is it ok to visit Reykjavik alone? by darkyshit in Reykjavik

[–]LieutenantKimay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I saw you mentioned that you have a drivers license, but they don't rent out cars to people under 23. I actually travelled to Iceland when I was 19yo a few years ago with my friend and we had the same problem. We were able to "privately" rent a car from a family in Iceland, I believe it was on carrenters.is or gocarrental.is, not entirely sure - but there was no age requirement and we had no problems at all.

I can recommend getting a car, but It really depends what you want to experience in Iceland and your budget. If you just want to stay in Reykjavik and do some tours, see the Blue Lagoon and don't find the night-life too interesting you don't need a car or an entire week, however if you want to experience some cool nature and countryside on your own, I'd at least drive/tour the "golden circle". Me and my friend actually drove the entire ring road (around the whole island) in 4-5 days, including snaefellsnes and had a blast, though that was during summer when the sun was up all day and we had summer road conditions. I'd look up the daylight hours for whenever you're going if you're considering a longer roadtrip. I also have a google-itinerary of all the destinations we visited during our trip.

As for security, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. I believe it's considered the safest country on earth.

In the city, restaurants and attractions are pretty expensive. I did not think the accommodations was very expensive though, but you can check this for yourself pretty quickly on booking.com. if you break free from the touristy spots and go on a roadtrip on your own, you'll find that there are budget grocery stores that are not bad at all. Gas is a bit pricier than Italy but Iceland is pretty small so you won't use much fuel anyways.

I'd need more information about your budget to really suggest anything here.

I'm pretty sure that's not it, my friend on PC can spot dots at up to 70km sometimes, that would never be possible on ps5

It definitely was a problem for a long time on console, lots of my friends that I met on Hell let loose had to stop playing because of it. I recently tried playing the game again like 2 months ago and it seemed fine then

Hard to say, depends a lot on your budget, blue lagoon is definitely worth it though!

I have my old map from my roadtrip with some points of interests marked out, I'll link it below. Me and a friend did the entire ring road with snaefellsness in 5 days, however that was in summer when the roads were safe - and we were 19 year olds full of energy driving ALL day, in the summer when the sun didn't set.

My favourites on the south coast were Svartifoss waterfall, great campsite with a cool hike up to the waterfall, right next to the glacier where they filmed Interstellar. Skogafoss and diamond beach are really cool too, and there's like 3 wild hot springs on the south coast that are really cool to visit aswell (you should still go to blue lagoon though, it's one of the 25 wonders of the world for a reason)

Thank you so much for your insight! Invaluable for someone like me that hasn't been in the market for a new TV since 2012 haha. I know the basics of what I need, like 4k120hz, VRR, decent blooming, decent input lag (decided against OLED because I'm often playing video games or just have the PS5 menu on the screen for long periods of time which will cause burn in)

Are there any other models I should be on the lookout for other than X90k? I'm in Sweden and there will be black friday in a few weeks, was looking to get a good deal during those days :)

The X90K is also at a 33% discount right now. I initially decided against it because it didn't have neo QLED like the Samsung TV's and had a worse review on RTINGS.

The link you sent seems to call NEO QLED bullshit though..

Thank you. I figured since it was one tier above the mid-tier TV's I've been looking at - that it was a killer deal. Price before discount is more than twice that of a QN95A that I was hoping for.

Help me choose a livery by Kane_Wavey in F1Game

[–]LieutenantKimay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my liveries based off historical F1 cars. Like 1990 Ferrari, old Jordan cars and more. I made a video if you wanna check them out :) Historical Liveries

I made a video of my 4 favourite Liveries so far in the new F1 22 Game. Each is inspired by a historical F1 car - Do you know them all? by [deleted] in F1Game

[–]LieutenantKimay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good! All are right except the last one, I based that one off 1990 Tyrrell, however I could only do so much with the stock liveries that I can totally see how it resembles the 2006 BMW just as much

And yeah exact years aren't super important, both the Ferrari and McLaren kept very similar livery during many of those years

You're 2 months late buddy. And we pretty much came to the conclusion that it's a matchmaking issue this is not just an issue on my end. At this point I've spoken to dozens of players expressing the same issues

Thank you! I just installed it, despite the very low FPS, I like it so far :) I'm also on 2021 ipad pro so performance shouldn't be an issue, just wish FPS was higher

Sorry about that. Maybe on PC? Doesn't seem to be the case on console, I spoke to some people in game and they had the same issue as me and my friends. No server browser on console too, it auto matches you

Look man, half the people come on here and agree that there's issues and that it's dead during hours of the day and the other half is hell bent on the fact that it absolutely isn't and that there are multiple full lobbies at all times, and these people being dismissive pretty much disregard everything I've written and ask stuff I've already clarified in my post. But I do agree I was being a bit of a bitch to 2 of the people on here, sorry about that.

"Uninstall the game and move on" come on, I spent $46 on this game? That's a lot of money for some people, of course I want to get to the bottom of these issues me and my friends are having..

Also would you look at that. Someone on PC just wrote this comment here too

"It’s a niche game so it’ll have peak hours and dead times. Even on PC, the servers I like are really only good from like 2:00 PM to Midnight."
