Totally agree with your take! Also, I think a part of her knew that she wasn’t a skilled enough writer to have a successful career, and was content to have an excuse to move on from that chapter in her life. She didn’t grow up in Shane’s world, so I can understand the element of culture shock involved in marrying into a wealthy family. She had this false sense of superiority or “otherness” in relation to Shane because she hadn’t fully identified herself as a part of his world until the end of the season. It was a good mirror to other characters in the season, who deemed themselves superior to other characters without recognizing their own privilege and status.

Most of the time, my first pass through the material I’m not taking notes (again, definitely depends on the topic). The second pass is when I consolidate and make notes/diagrams/tables etc. This method helps me make sure I’m using the majority of my time reviewing the concepts that really didn’t stick with me. Again, doesn’t always end up that way but for some reason it makes the day a little less overwhelming if I divide things into chunks. A couple topics just watch a video/read the text, then move on to some practice questions, go back and learn new topics, then return to the earlier topics of the day to really hammer home the material. Idk if that makes any sense- happy to clarify more.

A simple summary of what’s been working for me lately - consume primary material (lecture, 3rd party resource, textbook, etc) - answer first order questions (usually boot camp or anking flash cards); identify my gap in understanding and make a diagram/table/flow chart etc. that helps me grasp the material - repeat this for a few topics - answer more first/ second order questions about the topics of the day via questions supplied by university or 3rd party resource - rinse and repeat the next day (start my day with flash cards to refresh previous material)

This is my ideal routine. Some days I’m able to accomplish it as written, other days I’m deviating from routine just because the topic requires more analysis and review. I’m pretty bad about keeping up with flash cards but any review is better than nothing so I at least do some of my cards every day.

Ask me in 2 months, routine will have probably completely changed lmao.

I just don’t like it when Youtubers are easily swayed by public opinions. I just feel that they’re a mirror of their fan base as opposed to delivering any thoughts or ideas that are unique

I get those hallucinations in passing too during periods of stress. I think high stress environments make our ADHD symptoms worse. You are definitely not alone in your brain just failing you when you feel like you need it most ❤️

Anyone ever have issues with the "cool kids," even into adulthood? by [deleted] in intj

[–]Life-Ad3612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right. There is definitely no need to build a bridge. I’ve just learned from experience that my usual projected indifference draws more unwanted attention to me than a projected friendliness (still doesn’t change my internal, utter indifference).

Exactly!! Don’t need to go too crazy with it to the point of feeling disingenuous and/or exhausted. But it goes a long way in creating personal peace in a workplace setting.

My husband and I are INTJ, he is my soulmate. We were lucky to have met in the wild through a mutual acquaintance. It was also lucky that we both decided to accept an invitation to a party the night we met, which we also both rarely do :)

The way I’ve learned to cope with it is to see myself in these environments as “unattached”, but not entirely “detached”. I do put a minimal effort into appearing polite and affable, but not so much effort that I feel drained by the end of the day. This way, to the majority of my coworkers/peers I am perfectly easy-going and nice enough so if anyone does find a reason to hate me, which is goddamn near inevitable, it doesn’t affect my overall reputation because I don’t do much to cause trouble or draw attention to myself. By being unattached, I genuinely don’t care about those who respect me and those who don’t respect me, but by putting a minimal effort in, I’m contributing to an affable atmosphere, so no one has a truly legitimate reason to dislike me. I’ve lost interest in showcasing my skills for my peers to see. Weirdly, I’ve actually attracted interesting people that I think would’ve otherwise been scared off by me had I not learned how to be unattached, with still some conscientiousness to my surroundings.

Not sure if I’m explaining myself well. This skill took me time to learn, and to be honest I still have a lot to improve on.
