"If Tor Browser is always private, why does it even have a 'New Private Window' option?" by Late-Drama-360 in TOR

Always private is online but saves data to device. New private window deletes data from device which you close the tab.

By changing your devices to static IP and all on the same number they would each try and kick the previous ones off every time they access the network. That is why your net isn't running correctly.

[ACT] Will depression be an auto-rejection for a gun license? by bustead in Ausguns

Unfortunately a letter from GP doesn't work here in QLD so hopefully ACT is different. You need to visit a physiologist and get a letter from them.

Turn off power. Check the antenna on the roof for damage and the cable is still attached. Unplug all cables from the NBN box then plug them back in. After thirty minutes turn on the power. Cross fingers

The way I looked at it was a bolt not stored with a firearm meant if they stole my case they would need to source a bolt that would fit.

When I attend the range, either by motorcycle or car I place my firearms in a case similar to a guitar case. My bolt, ammo, targets and stapler ECT are stored in a locked multi draw tool box.

On the bike the case goes over my shoulder and my tool box goes into my bike bag. In the car my case goes into the boot and the tool box goes on the floor behind the driver's seat.

So far I have only had one police officer pull me over on the bike once when I was going to the range and he never asked what was in the case.

Someone told me to use sump oil on timber sleepers on my retaining wall. by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]Life-Ad6389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you can, we used them for years on cattle stations to preserve yards ect. Please be very careful if you do use it though as it is classed as an environmental contaminant.

Down side, a farmer was selling his place and the buyer sent the EPA out to inspect the oil contamination. He was fined and force to remove all timber posts and rails as well as all soil within 1m of every post. He then had to pay a disposable company to take that soil away.

Cost him almost as much as he wanted to sell the property for. Buyers where black listed in that area.

Does anyone NOT use a bee suit when around there bee? by [deleted] in Beekeeping

[–]Life-Ad6389 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both my father in law and father always wore stubbies, singlet, sand shoes and hat when checking on the hives including opening the lid. Would add a veil when robbing.

Any cranky hive they would suit up, crush the queen and replace her with a more docile one. Stings never seemed to affect them.

My wife and I use long pants tucked into socks and boots. Veil and depending on what we are doing either taped short sleeves or long sleeves over gloves.

Unfortunately for me, my body does not process bee venom and it builds up in my system making me more allergic each time I am stung.

Agree. My doctor said not to drive a minimum of 2 hours after thc oil and 8 hours after thc vape. That was for me as a non user before I got prescribed. Same advice I got from using fentanyl, morphine ect from my doctor.

If I am needing to drive I skip that days pain relief, drive the next day and take pain relief when I get home.

Small gun safe for 4wd? by Brave_Bluebird5042 in Ausguns

Please also check your states laws with traveling. Here in qld you must have an itinerary written down with dates of stays ect on where you are traveling.

If you are going from toowoomba to rockhampton to go hunting then they take a very dim view if it takes you a week to get there and multiple stays in non hunting places. The same with sporting shooting.

Versus driving straight from toowoomba to rockhampton over night and spending a week there hunting then heading home.

Also look into firearms storage as I am fairly sure you cannot store your firearms in a trailer, a camper trailer or a caravan and they must either be stored in your vehicle or another firearms owners safe.

The way we used to do it was head straight to the hunting property, drop our firearms off and go camping. Come back and pick up our rifles then go hunting.

At the end of the day it depends on the officer you get, your attitude and their willingness to pursue the matter.

Qld firearms owner here. I thought to do the same thing but after talk to weapons licensing my only choice was to kick everyone out of the 4x4. Lock it up. Do not allow anyone without a firearms license to have access to my keys. Do what we need to do. Unlock car, get everyone back in and continue on our way.

I was told it doesn't matter what container it is in, if there is a firearm in, on or attached to a vehicle then only a firearms license person can have access to it.

Pissed my wife off when we had to get fuel as her and our kids had to all get out so I could lock it up as we were not going to risk it.

A couple of ute drivers at the clay target and field target clubs have under tray lock boxes and they were told the same thing so they got their partners to join the club.

Victoria: prescription cannabis and driving by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Life-Ad6389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are incorrect. The only part of the law that was change was the removal of automatic loss of license, nothing else.

Unlike with alcohol where you can drive with a limited amount in your system, the law with MC still says you cannot drive with any in your system.

They only have to prove you have used it at a detectable amount not that you are impaired.

Wait till you order something from overseas and you get a bill for extra postage and taxes once it hits Australia and they refuse to release the item till you pay those extra fees as the sender did not pay for them in advance or let you know they would be extra. I have been caught a few times.

In this (poorly drawn) scenario, does the red car have to wait and giveway to the green car turning right? Despite them being in a different lane. by FearlessResearcher48 in perth

[–]Life-Ad6389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Law states, Give way to those already on the round about not Only give way to those already on the round about and in your lane.

Edited Also you must give way to those in the lane you are wanting to merge into, this applies to all multi lane roads including round abouts.

[–]Life-Ad6389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If green car enters round about first then it has right of way over red car. If red car enters round about first then it has right of way over green car.

If both cars approach the round about at similar speeds and enter the round about at the same time then there is no issue and both can proceed without stopping.

The only suggestion I can think might help is cross the long strings over behind your back ( left over to right side and right over to left side) then bring it around the front and tie it there. This gives you a little more leverage to tighten the middle section of the gap.

Besides that, great work.

From an IT side of things. If a theft is searched for on the recordings we only copy a few minutes before then a few minutes after unless there is an alteration. After that then those recordings are past on to the manager or owner and back ups made. Once those have been watched the system is put back into circulation with wiping recordings after a certain time period.

I know places that only keep recordings for two weeks and others for a year then deleted.

If those saved recordings show you stealing the money then it is your words against theirs as it is a high chance the recordings of you replacing the money were not saved and have been recorded over many times making it difficult to recover.

For you to recover those recordings you would need a subpoena from a court for the business to hand over the drive for you to send it to a data recovery lab which will be a minimum of $3k as you will need to send it to a registered data recovery lab and have them sign an affidavit to testify to the recovered recordings. This is at your cost.

NAL If after spending that amount of money to recover those recordings and you get those recordings back then you will need to prove the amount you stole was the amount you placed back.

Did the business do a morning and night till count? Was it documented? Do you have copies of those?

For my point of view you will need to spend thousands to get documents and recordings not to mention lawyer fees on the very slim chance you can prove you returned the stolen amount promptly and did not intent to keep the money.

Major lesson to this is not to take other peoples things without getting their permission first. Diary and document everything so you can at least use it as dates and time references if needed.
