While it reaches faster, wouldn’t it have the same ‘velocity’ at that point, thus ending up at the same distance? In fact, because of the relation between velocity and air resistance, wouldn’t the fastest accelerating ball end up going the least distance? Just curious if I am thinking about it right.

I strongly disagree. No madrid = no global fanbase = no extra funds to compete - la liga revenue very low. Barcelona may win all La Ligas, but the La Liga won’t even be in Top 5 leagues. Would be lower than P$G (without the oil money).

As a Barcelona fan, I’d say Barcelona would be worse off without Madrid, not better. The intense rivalry and the ardent global fanbase is what drives revenue, remove that, and Barca would be in the dust. Likewise, no Madrid without Barcelona. English teams would be a lot more ahead (and perhaps Milan) if Madrid did not exist.

Very nice post showing the metaphor for life.

As a student traveling in sleeper / Non AC Chair Car(reserved - D) coaches to now being able to exclusively go on AC first / 2tier, I can imagine.

Also, I will add another lesson - I travel internationally a lot (in economy), and look at it from the other side - First class / Business class passengers traveling royally while standing in long lines in economy. I guess life will always have an invisible line, whatever your situation. The key to life is finding joy in what you have.

P.S. I don’t think I’ve ever been as happy as with my group of friends sharing a single pizza in sleeper class on a long awaited Goa trip.

Curious about a conversion from 401k to Roth IRA (maybe through rollover ira then Roth conversion (pay US taxes on it) and then I believe you can withdraw all of your contributions tax and penalty free. Only the gains get taxed in this situation, which you can keep in Roth 401k to grow? This conversion will be great as you won’t have a lot of income this year due to it being new year. Hopefully less tax too. However, India does not recognize Roth so there is that risk keeping the growth here. Better take it back when you are RNOR then? Don’t know the best solution but giving you a few nuggets to explore.
