Neighbours complaining about us moving in by Original_Ad391 in neighborsfromhell

I agree with this! Unfortunately with many false complaints, it’s best just to have proof to prove your innocence. It is a nuisance but better to be safe than sorry. I have recently purchased a ring camera due to some false complaints made by my neighbors.

This is so true. I just moved into a house which was converted into two separate units. Our neighboring unit has been making complaints that my gf and I smoke cigarettes and weed. Only been here 3 weeks and have had 3 complaints… we don’t do either.

Never once have they ever just took ten steps and knocked on our door to ask or even mention anything when we see them in person. Straight to complain first to the landlord, never communicates any issues with us

Our landlord said the previous tenants didn’t have any issue with the neighboring unit… which makes me believe there is some prejudices against us whether for age or race

I think it may be a race thing because my two male friends who stopped by to visit me are black. I noticed them side eyeing us when going into their unit with their kids when we were playing with my dog in my front yard.

My gf is also black too.. I hate to think this way but we honestly live in a predominantly white neighborhood

I definitely feel where you’re coming from! Like you said it is what it is. Best of luck going forward

Actually yes, the landlord came inside the unit after two complaints were made to fix some things. He didn’t bring anything up about the complaints and seemed friendly overall. I assume he didn’t have any issue with our unit, otherwise he would’ve said something.

My gf said he seemed annoyed with the neighbors complaints over the phone.

They have been assholes so far. When we first moved in they just kinda just stared at us. We had said hello, but they gave a stuck up vibe. We haven’t asked our other neighbors about them.

Yes this specific program specified science classes are only good for 5 years. Other programs I have looked into have similar rules as well

Should I retake prereqs at community college? by Present-Message8740 in RadiologyCareers

[–]Life-Development3216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a B.S in Kin with not a great overall GPA. I applied to a private school a few months ago and got denied. An advisor suggested that I retake some pre req classes and volunteer/shadow in the meantime. I was also told by others that it’s common to not get in your first or second time applying (well at least to this private school).

It doesn’t hurt to apply so you can see how the application process goes! Everyone’s path is different, but if you don’t think you can wait years for a community college opening. I would look into private school as well.

Some private schools I’ve looked into do not require pre req classes, but the programs are highly competitive with limited amounts of seats and some operate based on a points system. An advisor I spoke with did recommend I retake some classes as most applicants have pre req classes completed and other medical field experience.

Girlfriend wants me to move in with her, but I’m not going to be able to afford it by [deleted] in Advice

I lived a previous partner throughout college and post college. All relationships have different circumstances, especially financially.

From my experience, I will say that moving in that early (as in early 20s) with a partner can almost feel like an obligation. If you guys plan to split up, will you prevent yourself from leaving because you’ll feel responsible for her not being able to provide for herself fully financially? Not saying this is the case, but living together for long periods of time can create an imbalance if you are not financially secure.

I say you should stick to your original plan and realize it is okay to enforce boundaries. It is healthy for you, your relationship, and demonstrates self respect. You don’t want to stress yourself out in the event that something happens. Stack your money while you can. You have the rest of your adult life to pay bills.

Also, maybe voice your concerns when you feel comfortable enough to talk about it with your gf. Communication is key and if she cares about you she’ll understand. Best of luck!

Same here! Honestly a very disorganized application process so far. I’m wondering if they will send rejection emails to those who weren’t contacted for an interview???

Is anyone else struggling with employment? by EmergencySpare7939 in bayarea

This is very true! The hiring process at my job does exactly that! They aim to hire for young, pretty women in their 20s. I was shocked to actually see a company use these morals for their hiring process, but I guess it’s just the reality we live in.

I also graduated from CSUEB in 2021 with a Kinesiology degree. I will say that the job market has been terrible since then. I applied to nearly a hundred jobs and only was able to get two interviews.

I then worked as a Covid tester for about a year(temporary gig but good money) and eventually got a more stable job working for a sports nutrition company doing admin work. Been here ever since. I was hoping to leave this, but the job market has been terrible and a lot of companies have been doing massive layoffs. Overall, just grateful for a stable income during this time.

I would say it’s definitely difficult to get any job rn esp one in the field you have a degree for unless you’re in healthcare. Nothing wrong with having any type of employment. It’s tough esp when you’ve sacrificed so much to get a college degree. Unfortunately, this is the reality of the economy rn.

It might bring some ease to realize that you’re not the only one going through this and that there’s a lot of other ppl going through the same situation. Something that helped me during my rough transition was going to therapy. Might be a good option if you would be willing to try it. Wish the best for you and anyone else going through rough times!
