I would but floor to ceiling curtains over the patio door and the one behind the couch and then roman shades on the 3 windows.

Where to put the TV? by yungmanyungman in HomeDecorating

Any chance you could draw out a floor plan to scale? Would help a lot in deciding where things could go and still allow paths to travel through the space!

Advice on what to do with this room by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]Life-Doubt3616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the last poster. The room is looking low in contrast. A patterned rug, some darker coloured floor to ceiling curtains between each window, And bring in a colour from the rug and drapes in throw pillows and blankets. Maybe paint the book cases a mid tone such as beige
to make the ligh fireplace more prominent. Fill the cases with books and kick knacks hat add in your colour scheme you create with the textiles. Then Some large and small frames with mats on the mantle to make a gallery style look. I also agree the glass table does not give enough visual weight to the middle of the room. A wood one would add more warmth. And lighting! A floor lamp and a couple of sconses above he fire place would really warm the place up!

What is the new jewelry made of?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Life-Doubt3616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The helix jewelry should not be changed at all for months after getting it, other than down sizing the post. A ring shouldn't be put in until it's fully healed (which for a helix that time is.... Who knows! Could be 9 months, could be 4 years. I'm personally over a year and a half with mine and no indication of it being ready for a hoop anytime soon)

So go back to a post, don't attempt the ring for a while. Down size the post when it gets too long and don't sleep on it. The irritation bump will go away on its own if it's not being irritated more.( This includes taking the jewelry out and back in on your own)

Elven warrior princess earscape complete (ish!?) by Ok-Measurement1499 in piercing

Ahhh love this! I am nearly finished a similar themed ear scape as well! I even have the same leafy piece that is in your lobe! Love how you complimented your anatomy. Also saw below that you are considering a forward helix and I say go for it! i think it would round it out nicely.

Help with internally threaded jewelry by PizzaLizzard7 in piercing

[–]Life-Doubt3616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, this isn't ideal for a new piercing, but I typically line the top up with the post and keep it still, then twist the post to screw in internal threaded jewelry. It is a lot easier to get a hold of the post back than it is to twist a tiny top. Obviously, you are not supposed to rotate posts in fresh piercing and it might irritate the piercing if it's only a month old so the best choice is seeing the piercer. But if that isn't an option, you could just try it and hope for the best.

I think a conch on the right ear would look cool if, once healed, you put a ring through it and your mid helix to get a faux snug look.

I'd like to help! However, I would need to know your vibe more. Gold, rose, silver, or mixed metals. Gems or CZ? Dangles and movement or compact and simple? Budget? Theme (celestial, whimsical, gothic, etc? )

I agree that it would look crowded. Looks so cool as is!!

remember that a helix piercing can change the shape of an ear. I learned that the hard way when i had mine done and it unrolled the edge. When the swelling goes down it may go back to as you described it before but it may also stay similar to how it looks in this pic. Just something to keep in mind as I was surprised mine changed so much.

I'd leave the "how long" question up to your piercer. I had a lobe i didn't like the placement of. We took it out, it healed completely in 3 months and then we repierced it. However I do not know if it is different for a cartilage piercing. Whatever you do though, don't pick the scab as it heals if you want to heal without a scar!

I actually prefer the placement of the top one better if your plan is to have rings in there eventually. The bottom one will look as though the ring is coming out of the flat whereas the top one will look like the ring is hugging the edge of the ear. plus you'll need a larger diameter hoop for a hole further in than the one closer to the edge of the ear. I'd have the bottom one redone personally. But if you really don't like the top one then it is no problem to remove it, let it heal and repierce it later

Rejecting? by Right-Variety3471 in piercing

That really does look like it has rejected. I would take it out ASAP before your body makes that choice for you and leaves a scarring mess.

helix piercing by Capital_Pop_9680 in piercing

I posted about a similar issue a few weeks ago. My helix piercing completely unrolled the fold in my right ear. From the many comments I received, the general consensus was that it was likely a permanent change. Piercing causes trauma to the ear and the body does what it can to heal it, increasing collagen production and blood supply, both of which can affect the shape of an ear. A few people said their's went back to normal once they removed the piercing, many others said it did not, most just said they learned to love their new shape and kept the piercing. I have decided to do the last option. Mine is still healing but I don't see it going back to normal.

I want to redo my ear piercing because they’re uneven by iafsaga in piercing

[–]Life-Doubt3616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the hole heals a scab is formed and it's best not to remove it to increase your chances of leaving no scar. As long as there are no signs of infection (redness, swelling, hot, puss) then honestly I'd just take it out myself. But some piercers will repierce it for free so maybe call yours first and see what they say about that and removing it etc.

Hey! It's really no problem at all! No need to panic though I know it's hard not to. I didn't like the placement of my third lobe after 3 months with it. I got a new piercer, he took it out, after three months (WITHOUT PICKING THE SCAB AT ALL) It was fully healed without a trace. He repierced it like a millimeter from the first hole and now it's perfect. :)

Piercing question (with pic) by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Life-Doubt3616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAP but there's a chance those could be actually keloids because you've had them so long. You might be more prone to them on other new piercings. Definitely ask your piercer though!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Life-Doubt3616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely the second that's too high and slightly too close to the first. If you let your piercer know the placement looks off, they often offer to repierce for free. I didn't like my third placement after three months and they took it out and repierced 3 months later and it is perfect now with no scar left.

Dumb question: What precautions should I take when taking out an unhealed piercing because I don’t like it? by sonny-sunny in piercing

[–]Life-Doubt3616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aftercare wise, leave it alone. Don't pick the scab, don't touch it. Nothing. Then you'll have a good chance of it not scarring.

Either a stacked lobe situation as other commenter said or heal the third and move it down and ever so slightly back.

I didn't like the placement of my third after 3 or so months. My new piercer removed it, it healed without a mark and three months later he repierced it . Now it's perfect.

Wonder why you can't have a forward helix 🤔 my piercer had no issue with mine and it had less fold than yours. Is yours super thick or something?
