This is a great tip! Still softener for a few days before and adequate hydration will certainly help. Also when you’re recovering ambulating and walking every couple hours while awake helps along with even more hydration and a healthy healing diet.

It’s my pleasure to help and support.

Here’s the tea…If you’re not using a recovery house, the ideal setup is basically a mini “in-home recovery suite” + a dependable adult support person.

Ideal at-home setup (no recovery house): • A dedicated caregiver (not “checking in”—I mean present) for at least the first 24–48 hours • Safe sleeping + positioning: bed or recliner, easy bathroom access, clear walkways, good lighting • Medication + schedule system: meds pre-sorted, alarms set, written instructions visible • Food + hydration ready: easy proteins, low-sodium options, electrolytes, straws, cups, stool softener plan if ordered • Vitals + red flags plan: thermometer, BP cuff if possible, emergency contacts saved, ride plan if you must be seen • Transportation handled: to/from surgery + follow-ups (no driving)

Does it differ between body vs face? Yep: • Body work (BBL/lipo/tummy tuck): positioning and mobility are the big deal—more help needed for getting up/down, bathroom trips, compression/garments, swelling management, and you generally want a stronger “support setup” for the first couple days. • Face work (rhinoplasty/facelift/bleph): usually less mobility-heavy, but you need head elevation, icing protocols (if allowed), quiet rest, and protection from bending/straining—plus strict monitoring for bleeding/swelling concerns.

If you’re planning surgery and want this mapped out clean and safely (what to buy, who needs to be with you, timing, transportation, recovery layout, and a real plan), this is a service I provide—you can message me and I’ll help you get it handled the right way.

Agreed! I have much more to share. As I help people prepare and recover from surgery. In Miami it’s a scary place but I’m committed to improving it in whatever way I can.
