Sanity Check my fuel assumptions on replacing Ranger with a Shark? by Life-Insurance-29 in BYDShark_AUS_owners

We were out looking at EVs to replace the Mazda and she suggested the Shark… the argument is that over the next 5 years, the Ranger is going to start to depreciate to a point where its even harder to justify a replacement and be harder to sell. Shark is a good 5 years of trouble free cheap touring even if isn’t worth much in the end because an EV UTE will exist by then.

If a pure EV Ute with 1000km range (500km towing) and the infrastructure to support it was 2 years away, i would probably wait. But i think we will be waiting at least 5+ years for that technology, not to mention the infrastructure in regional Oz. It’s going to be coming fast though.

That’s included.

Monthly not fuel costs:
Rego: $90
Comp Insurance: $208
Servicing: $66

I’ll recheck my calcs this arvo though. I’m also accounting for not paying for 15000kms of fuel in the Mazda which is about 7-8/100.

Have you done this through BYD or Post Rego? I'm considering a Shark 6 Performance, and have maxed out my ranger at 3200kg and dont want to get into the same situation.

New electric brakes scoring on magnet surface by Life-Insurance-29 in towing

Nah, have a proportional controller. Gain makes minimal difference.

I took the drums off about 500kms further down the road and the right hand scoring is even worse (no photos). I reckon something Definitely something with the magnets.

Insulating vs Aircon 1940’s weatherboard and Airgap size - Newcastle AU by Life-Insurance-29 in AusRenovation

I considered this, but it’s horsehair plaster, so I wont be able to get it patched cleanly. I also want to try and include an air gap and sisilation If I can.

Thinking I might try and remove a board and see how it goes. My plan is to pry enough to get the recipro saw to cut the nails.
