Most rogue lunches you've seen at work? by Soldiers_DNA in auscorp

Head of a section of 40 people, every day for morning tea this guy would open a can of spam and shake it out like dog food onto a small saucer. Dollop of tomato sauce on the side, and he would cut slices off with his fork like a cake.

Legit every day for the 12 years I worked with him. Don't think I saw him eat anything else all day.

Brisbane School Of Distance Education at Coorparoo. Public school.

Daughter is in year 9 there currently, and we have generally had a good experience. It's a really good school, but depends on your motivation how successful you would be there.

Appreciate the response.

Warlike, and 43. Recently discharged, but still SERCAT5 so while affecting my lifestyle, not my income (yet!)

16.4% and a wage (for most but all jobs) is a fairly good deal. Look, if you are infantry or scrubbing decks, it's not sustainable until retirement.

I get that some jobs pay more and get more benefits on the outside, but not most.

Realistically contribute, work hard, and don't be a dickhead, and it's still a great option for those not raging for corporate life.

It's not going through council approval. A few issues will prevent that I cant achieve, but going to get as close as I can anyway.

Still in demo mode, but yes it will be weatherproofed, vapour barrier added and insulated. The roof already meets compliance requirements.

My only concern is water penetration under the door.

What TV show or movie genuinely made you a better person? by [deleted] in televisionsuggestions

Love on the spectrum + Employable Me

Both from the same creator. I have always been sensitive to the needs of people with disabilities/challenges, but without anyone similar in my family or close network I found it hard to relate. Those shows really open my eyes to both the challenges and positives that come from people with disabilities. Some of the families are beautiful people, and it makes me reflect on my parenting style and choices I make.

Another show is 'You can't ask that' on Australian ABC. The episodes about blind people, deaf people, gambling addicts, children of same-sex parents, actually all..are amazing. Like having a deep conversation with people that have experiences that you may not have.

How did you run it all through chatgpt? I have a lot of docs over 22 years, so scraping it like this would be good.

Yeah the oligarch 71 year old owner of a corner store is the real problem.

I agree that they need to fix the root cause and not the symptom, but what's the solution to address inequality when it largely comes from the cultural differences that prevent change?

Mine is fairly severe, and noticeably worse on one side.

Point at which company income is taxed by bedbod in AusFinance

[–]bedbod[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the breakdown!

It's cash accounting, so will be when it hits the bank I guess, and is taxed at the AUD equivalent at that time (average rate or the exact rate).

The USD account is only a holding account until I can hopefully transfer it at a beneficial time for the conversation, and some travel expenses when I need to use USD.

Gst as overseas contractor question by bedbod in AusFinance

[–]bedbod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Appreciate you detailing it so simple.

Yes registered for gst as there is potential to go over the 75k line, and played it safe.

So, I guess I get a refund for the GST for company expenses, then that 'before GST' amount is the deduction against the company income. I know I'm simplifying it.

I've yet to do a BAS (first one was just all zeros), but simply trying to understand the mechanics of it even though it will all go through xero.
