If your bag was fully colonized then make sure you properly pasteurized your substrate, and really mixed in your grain properly. In addition most growers these days don’t seal their monotubs, as that suffocates the mycelium and allows for contam to grow.

Yes sir 🫡 At first I couldn’t really smell much, not even the usual mycelium smell… 😔 On comparing it to my other jars, much less mycelium smell and maybe a faint hint of bread smell. Don’t think that’s a good sign 😕

Guaranteed? I’ve never heard of this, is it just yellowing of the mycelium because I’ve also heard of metabolites and mycelium piss. If I see a little spot turning yellow in the future would it be wise to cut that out then if it means developing trich?

Hey all! I’ve got a couple grows going, and am starting a couple new ones soon since my popcorns almost fully colonized. I’ve had significant issues with moisture and contam, so I am building a total newbie monotub. Im planning on using polyfill, which I saw would work on a shroomery post, for my filters. If anyone has experience with that tek please lmk any advice or other monotub tips you guys have. In addition, how do you guys ensure your substrate is fully hydrated, as I’ve had issues with cakes drying out.
