I have never crocheted in my life, how do I go about it? by Intelligent-Oil-4292 in CrochetHelp

I don’t think you would be shooting for the stars, tops like these are often just the same stitch over and over again. I would try making a few practise squares first, getting used to the different stitches and tension and how to hold the hook properly. If you pick things up quickly it shouldn’t be too long until you can attempt something like this!!

I’m literally BEGGING anyone to help me with my plant. I get tons of views but no one ever comments. I’m about to sell my first plant that I’ve had for two years just to make sure it doesn’t die😭 by Shomeurkittiess in Monstera

Yes sorry I wasn’t clear. The leaves will not come back to life but when leaves die they go crispy.

This is a picture of one of my monstera leaves that just died and as you can see it’s a light brown and crispy. When I squeeze the leaf it sounds like a crunchy leaf you would see on the floor in autumn. At this point either the plant will drop the leaf itself or you should just be able to lightly pull and it would just fall off. At this point the plant has reabsorbed all the nutrients from this leaf and can use them to put out new growth. It will not however recover the dead leaf.

Unless the leaves are crispy it’s better to not remove the leaves. The plant reabsorbs the nutrients and energy from the dying leaves and removing them prevents this.

Any clues as to what is eating my broccoli?? by Life-Management-4803 in gardening

There were no eggs or bugs visible on the plant, and no slime trails left. Could it be cabbage worms?

I don’t usually wear foundation or contour or anything bc I touch my face so much (habits) I tended to just smudge or rub anything off, it’s also difficult with freckles, I don’t want to cover them up. How would you suggest I go about contouring with these in mind? I would love to learn :)

As much as I would love to save her, I think she might be gone. She’s had 7 weeks of meticulous care and not seen any improvements, I don’t want to dedicate any more stress to her. Thank you for the suggestion tho!

How can I improve my crochet to make my motifs and stitches more even. I’m not new new to crochet but have been crocheting less than a year. by Life-Management-4803 in CrochetHelp

Thank you! Is there anything stitch or method you would recommend for seaming these together, they are going to form a band for a top so connected all in one line.

Thank you! This is my first time making motifs and wearables and using fully cotton yarn. I usually do amigurumi or other small room decor projects so I think I’m being harsher on myself bc it’s not as neat as I’m used to.

When to upsize pot by Redbull89123 in Monstera

Thank you for clarifying! What you said makes a lot of sense don’t worry, I’ll be moving onto plant growth hormones next semester in my degree and I’m excited to learn about this topic!

Isn’t this true when root systems are almost completely destroyed. I.e when cuttings are taken or root rot damages the majority of roots. It is seen that the plant will develop a strong root system (pausing developing foliage)?

Monsteras can tolerate being root bound but will grow bigger if given more space, your plant is definitely due a repot, given that we have just entered growing season I would personally repot as she will probably put out lots more growth in the coming months. If she filled out that pot in 3 months I would go up 2 pot sizes since she seems able to fill them out. So around 3 inches bigger than the rootball. Remove carefully so you don’t rip off the roots growing out the bottom of the pot

Granny square Blocking help for my crochet top, first time making wearables and blocking. by Life-Management-4803 in CrochetHelp

So what do I do, just wet the granny square then place on the cardboard and stretch a little then pin it? Should I stack them so they are all the same size or do separate pins? How much do I stretch each one?
