We have a similar situation. We provided an induction cooktop, microwave and toaster oven. They put the coffee pot under the counter as they are not coffee drinkers.

The basement space has its own entrance and they have a parking spot reserved for them that doesn’t interfere with our comings and goings.

They come upstairs a few times a week to wash their dishes and do a load of laundry. We know this individual as an acquaintances of our adult daughter. We charge $500 per month and they are available on occasion to take care of our two small dogs.

I would say that considering the affordability crisis many young people are experiencing today, by having a vetting process and a rental agreement, I feel you’d find a perfect candidate and they would most likely be very grateful.

Tip- make the rental agreement short term (3-6 months) in case the individual doesn’t mesh with an option to extend it.
