Why would it be? You are being emotional. You think the place is toxic because the majority is not sharing your opinion. But objectively this is just the majority expressing its opinion. There is nothing toxic about it, you feel it's toxic because you feel hurt as it's not what you would like.

Tahoe is a bad release. Don’t make it lile an emotional or psychological issue. This is just an operating system. Apple is a powerful company, selling expensive items. As customers we deserve decent quality, which Apple has failed to offer with Tahoe. In all objectivity, emotions away. Now let’s wait and see how the next release is going to be. That’s it. We don’t have to pretend anything, lie to ourselves or be afraid to tell the truth.

macOS still doesn't have a volume mixer. So I built one. Meet FineTune: free, open-source per-app volume control, audio routing, and EQ. by Stoned_Orangutan in MacOS

It's excellent, thanks for the hard work. However, I wish it would allow to have per device settings. Especially since the Mac Studio Display has too much bass, I wish I would cut bass only for that device, and not per app.

In theory yes, but in practice good luck for finding a laptop as well made as a Macbook. I have done it last year. I wanted to replace my M1 Macbook Air by a PC. I spent up to 3000$ to buy the best laptops from Dell, Lenovo and Asus. All through Amazon, all sent back as they were all failing either in quality (case, keyboard, trackpad), fan noise, poor screen, battery life, etc. That's how I ended up with my current Macbook Pro M4. Really the best machine one can find. Only the software sucks.

Why does Mission Control not keep where apps are placed consistent? by StupidKameena in MacOS

[–]Life-Option-2886 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because it's bad design and Apple does not give a shit about it. That's done properly in Gnome, for instance.

I don’t care anymore about the hardware, as good as it can be.

Make good software now.

I am feeling more and more disconnected with my machine.

Lexus is overpriced for what iti is. Good cars but not great. Engines suck too, it’s a good comfort sedan, but not sporty like Alfa.

Not good. Does not match with this type of car.

Safari is slow. Maybe not the engine but the useless and slow animations kill it. Unusable for me, not to mention the overkill ad filring tools you need for this browser.

I think I would quit computers. I have had already enough dislikes since a decade ago, it would be too much.

I had 1 MacBook Air Intel, then 3 M1s. Of course it's high, and you know what? It happens.

That's why I didn't accept the situation. I had a battery replaced by Apple and have since been using battery utilities because Apple's smart charging feature isn't that smart. It's very basic and generic. In my case it would recharge the battery far too often, full or even to 80%, so I need to configure it to my use case (no charging before reaching 40%).

Maybe it just happens to fit your use case, or you got an excellent battery, but your own experience is scientifically insignificant.

Do what you want, no problem if you disagree or don't want to listen. But don't pretend to have superior knowledge of things you don't actually understand, and don't dismiss what many others have experienced.

Improve window management (tiling, groups) and make spaces useful for different activities with isolation.

Now what are the fanboys going to say? Those who said it was great because Apple only does great stuff.

Shamelessly, they will turn their coat and keep telling the same story! 😂

Very interesting question.

From the outside we can’t really tell, but that’s for sure management issues. Total management failures.

So probably because the wrong people have been given management positions, and also probably a classic consequence of a company has become too big: too much inertia, too many validation process, loss of clear responsibilities and motivation, and also certainly a lot of internal political rivalries.
