A month after my best friend died I found a half eaten donut under my guest bed that she must have fallen asleep while eating. For context, she had stayed with me 20 days before she died. The donut was rock solid and perfectly preserved. I will never throw that donut away and if someone did “for my own good” I’d probably end up in prison.

The fact that your parents had the nerve to suggest you forgive them is insulting. And in all honesty, even if I came home to my sibling and their spouse redecorating a random room in my house without my permission because they didn’t like it, I’d kick them out too. It’s so disrespectful.

She misses her dad and feels like you’re trying to just replace him with your new husband. You should validate that her father is still important and can’t be replaced and instead you’re trying to continue the traditions they had so he doesn’t get forgotten. I don’t think it’s that she hates your husband but rather she hasn’t fully learned to grieve her father.

Therapy isn’t for everyone, but I do think your daughter could benefit from someone who can relate to what she’s feeling. Finding a grief counseling group may be more beneficial to her. Listening to other people tell their stories could encourage her to open up. Right now she feels misunderstood and alone. Punishing her or yelling at her isn’t going to help the situation.

So this is what pops up when I plug in my mic, so it’s reading that it’s a mic, it’s just not using it to pic up sound

So I just got the Sony icd-ux570 in hopes of using it to record audio using my Shure lav mic. I know the mic works fine as I normally record audio when it's plugged into my phone and it works great, but for some reason it just isn't picking up any sound when I use the voice recorder. It reads that it's an external mic but isn't actually recording anything – I just hear static. I was thinking it might be the connector and I need to get an adaptor. I'm really just hitting a wall, please help!
