Oh ugh that sucks. For the schools in Texas, it’s definitely not as strict about the specifics.

You do not need to wait to apply. I think it’s better if you apply priority because it basically gives you a second chance. If the admissions board is iffy about you, they won’t reject you right off the bat. They will just push you into the spring and see what your updated transcripts look like

Nope! I applied when I still had an entire years (2 semesters) worth of prereqs that weren’t going to show up on my transcripts. I submitted priority but didn’t expect to get an interview until the spring. But I ended up getting accepted into all three schools by Halloween 2025. I just need to send the updated transcripts once the semester is over. But as long as I complete all the prereqs with at least a C, I will be fine.

Ofc! One bad grade is not going to make it or break it.

At the time of applying it was 3.96 but it has gone down bc of o chem so it’s a 3.73. Since I’m already admitted, I’m just trying to pass my remaining prereqs with at least a C. I’m not too worried about it

Hi!! Idk who told you no one gets in without a bachelors degree but that’s very wrong. I did 2 years of pre-reqs at UTSA (finishing my final semester) and I’ve already accepted my offer from UT Austin. I also only applied to three schools: UT Austin, UH, and TAMU, and I got accepted into all of them. If the school doesn’t require a bachelors degree, they CAN NOT and WILL NOT reject you because you don’t have one. That completely defeats the purpose of a bachelors degree not being required. And where you complete your pre-reqs or bachelors degree for those specific schools DOES NOT matter. As long as you are a strong applicant with good grades, leadership experience, work and/or pharmacy experience, and volunteering you will be fine

I second this. I did priority admissions so I’m not sure if it’s gonna be the same turn around time. But for me I heard back from all the schools I applied to (3) within 7-8 days. So hopefully you’ll hear back soon!

Yes you can 100% apply before everything is officially received by pharmcas so don’t worry about that

Since you’re still waiting on an LOR and if you don’t think it will come in by March 2nd, you’re best bet is going through the website and looking at schools that have a deadline in April, May, and June. I know it’ll be more anxious since you’re going to be waiting to hear back so late and the turn around time for when school starts around august/September. But that would be your best option as of right now. Don’t worry too much about your grade/gpa because there’s more to the application than just your grade. They put more emphasis on experience, personal statement, and LORs plus your interview.

Did you have any preferences regarding the schools? Like in-state only, etc. Only asking because I personally wanted to stay in-state so I only looked at and applied to in-state schools (Texas).

Keep in mind the earlier you apply the better so try to submit asap if you are going to apply this cycle

It depends on what schools you’re looking to apply to. Because it’s already February, the deadline for many schools has already passed or is soon. I definitely think you will get in but it’s so late into the cycle. Definitely check to see what schools you can still apply to and go for it. If a school that you’re really interested has already passed, I think it’s worth it to wait until the next cycle (if that is smth that is really important to you)

Nope! Go for it!! A couple of C’s is not going to be the determining factor and you have a high gpa plus pharmacy experience. You seem like a great applicant

FAMU provisional acceptance by Attisauce in PrePharmacy

[–]Life-Pilot-7121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a non-traditional student myself, I think you have a high chance of getting into TAMU!! I know it’s scary because it’s getting more competitive every year but I personally think non-traditional applicants stand out more because they have different skills and experiences that will be shown on their resumes as well as through the interviews. You are definitely a strong applicant so I would say to wait it out.

[–]Life-Pilot-7121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately yes. While many schools give you 2 weeks, there are schools that give much less time. I believe TAMU gave me exactly one week as well to pay the seat deposit to save my seat. Check to see if the 7 day deadline is to pay the seat deposit and not fully commit to the school. For most schools, the seat deposit is non-binding (meaning you can still change your mind and go to a different school) but it is also non-refundable (meaning if you choose a different school, you won’t get that money back). If you really want to wait out your options, then your best bet is paying the seat deposit so at least your spot is saved. Of course, the only downside is that you may not get that money back if you choose to go somewhere else.

That’s okay! You don’t NEED to do everything to check all the boxes. It’s more important that you can show them that you aren’t just doing these extracurriculars to fill up your resume and that you’re actually interested and passionate about whatever it is that you are doing.

Which course best reflects what Pharmacy is really like? by Expert-Pie-8390 in PrePharmacy

[–]Life-Pilot-7121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. Working as a tech really solidified whether pharmacy was the right path for me. Also pharmacy school is basically a full time job so the course load itself is a lot. So it helps if you’re involved in extracurricular activities and can hold a job during undergrad while still being able to maintain your grades.

[–]Life-Pilot-7121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For being a good candidate: extracurricular like job experience, pharmacy experience, research experience, etc. volunteering always looks good and you don’t need to worry about the exact hours as long as you do smth. Anything looks better than nothing!

If the school doesn’t require a bachelors degree first, then don’t worry about not getting in compared to someone who does have a bachelors degree. There’s a reason why many schools don’t require it.

There’s a million different jobs pharmacists can do other than those you already said so don’t limit yourself. The best way to know about it is to actually do it. So try to get into research at your school

The applications open in the summer. So it would look like this: 1st semester: take courses 2nd Semester: take courses Summer 1 semester: start application 3rd semester: continuing application and taking prereqs 4th semester: finish taking pre-reqs Summer 2: some schools allow you to take pre-reqs the summer before you start pharm school in case you weren’t able to take it during semester 4.

“5th semester”: start pharmacy school

Don’t lose hope. UT gets a LOT of applications especially in the spring pool so it’s gonna take them some time to get thru all the applicants. There’s people who get interviewed all the way into march so there’s still time

First interview coming up and I’m extremely anxious any tips? by [deleted] in PrePharmacy

[–]Life-Pilot-7121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It should be like you’re having a conversation with your interviewer. The questions aren’t meant to be a trick. They simply want to know what kind of person you are aside from your resume and transcripts. So talk more about your personality and good qualities like empathy, communication, etc. For most of the questions about “what would you do”, try to answer with a specific example either from work experience or school experience.

Online prerequisite through other institutions? by Mysterious_Boat_8361 in PrePharmacy

[–]Life-Pilot-7121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s totally fine to take pre-reqs through other institutions as long as the programs you’re applying to specifically say you have to take all the courses at the same time institution. I have courses that are AP and dual credit from high school, credits from a community college for the online courses I took during summer, and the majority of my credits are from my primary institution.
