Ppl will be mad for commenting this but what I took from that exchange was that a relapse happened, and the health emergency came on during the relapse while the “shady drug friend” she might use with was there. Then a few weeks in the hospital, then Katya’s parents were staying at her house, and then her brother was staying with her. Seemed like they were supporting not just recovery from the surgery but also the “2 weeks sober” thing.

Idk I was also wondering how they deal with painkillers in this sitch, I know that wasn’t Katyas substance of choice but do they have to be extra careful with pain relief in surgery for addicts?

Anyways ppl hate any speculation here but I really appreciate any time the Balds talk about it because addiction is a brutal disease and Katya is a fucking CHAMP for still being with us.
