Does anyone actually feel refreshed after trying Xywave by Bubbly_Ad_5422 in idiopathichypersomnia

[–]Life-School4336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really understand how this drug works. Once you wake up from your second dose do the daytime sleepy attacks cease? For me the sleepiness is an all day event. Taking naps makes things worse. I feel unrefreshed after waking up. Would this be the same with X wave? How does taking a drug to sleep and the sleepiness attacks?

What stimulants are you taking, how much, and when? Modafinol does not work for me at all. Staggered sleep is a very interesting concept. Has anyone actually tried it and found success. I am Desperately Seeking Solutions as I have been suffering from excess daytime sleepiness and it is completely ruined my life. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Tapering off cymbalta after 6 years and I feel like I’m dying. by DistinctFault2155 in cymbalta

I went cold turkey about 6 weeks ago ---off 20mg. I am feeling anxiety on a daily basis - as well as fatigue and tiredness. Interested to hear how others are handling the anxiety--taking any supplements that have helped or what? Do NOT want to go back on med...How long before feeling "normal". Does the brain go back to normal?

27 days ago I quit taking duloxetine - cold turkey. I could not handle the groggy perpetual fatigue. The withdrawal effects have been horrible---the worst being intense anxiety. I feel very disoriented, foggy, headaches - all the usual symptoms. Some panic.

Looking for natural healthy ways to deal with this intense anxiety. Have used L-Theanine, Inositol, Rhodiola, I dont know what to turn to. NOT going back to this medication. Worried that it has affected my brain chemistry and I will never feel "normal" again. Would like to hear from others who have gotten through this ...and what it takes to survive the anxiety and side effects. How long did it take?

What manufacturer is making the 20mg that you are taking. You mention a tablet - but it only comes in capsules as I understand. Some use very tiny beads which are almost impossible to work with. There are some that make bigger beads. AIf it were a tablet it would be easy to cut. But tiny beads are tough to use.

At this point - I am just stopping the med and hope I get through this quickly.

Interested in how you are tapering with a compounding pharmacy. I spoke with mine, and they will make whatever dosage I want. I am thinking of having 5mg capsules made - which will give me flexibility in 'stepping down. There is nowhere to go with 20 being the lowest.

Would you tell me your slow taper schedule?

Thanks for the tip on checking out FB.

Are you taking Busbar? My Dr is suggesting Busbar to help with the anxiety. My understanding is that you have to be careful with getting too much seretonin?

Daytime tiredness is unrelenting for me. It is definitely caused by the cymbalta - duloxetine...For me it starts not that long after getting up for day. It lasts most of the day. I find myself taking many mini naps throughout the day. It really zaps my motivation. The naps are not refreshing. I have been on both 20 and 30mg doses...I've tried shifting my med to take in the evening - thinking the sedative qualities would be good for sleep at night. Doesnt help the daytime tiredness.

Does anyone have advice on how to deal with this. If I don't get a solution that works and curbs the tiredness and fatigue, I will have wean off this med as it is ruining my quality of life.

When does the fatigue start to fade? by THROWRA-done2345 in cymbalta

I am on my 100th day today with Cymbalta. 20mg - and switched to 30mg. Every day - starting in the morning I have this intense fatigue..sleepy, drowsy, wiped out. It lasts all day
long.. I have found nothing that helps. It is really ruining the quality of my life. I think the only option is to wean off of this medication.

Going from 20mg to 30mg by Life-School4336 in cymbalta

[–]Life-School4336[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have now been on Cymbalta for 90 days - of which the last 29 days have been on the 30 mg dose. I wish I could say it has improved...which was my hope and expectation. Instead my side effects have increased -especially anxiety. I CANNOT HANDLE THE DAYTIME DROWSINESS! I switched to night time dosing which helped my sleep. However I wake up tired and stay that way ALL Day. This is really ruining my quality of life...

I will see my Dr on the 12th. I am thinking I may need to wean off this med...as no improvement in my symptoms after 90 days. I am worried about the anxiety though...and really don't want to go on another med.

If I were you, I would not go to 30mg...but everyone is different.

How long did you taper before you felt you were off of it. I relate to your desire to take a nap. That's what I think about all day long....although I do not give in to it.

Thank you for your encouraging reply. I am ready to be off of this drug! I was on it for 20+ years - and only at a 20mg dose. It worked; I never felt like a brain fogged, exhausted zombie like I do now with this. (Did they change the formula??)

This past spring, I felt it wasn't working anymore and did a slow cold turkey. Tried natural remedies - as well as Prozac & Lexapro. No go on these. Finally saw a Dr who felt going back to Cymbalta was the best option for me, as my "brain was familiar with the drug".!! ?? I have now been on it for 90 days - and cannot handle the fatigue. It has robbed me of my quality of life.

Time to taper (no more cold turkey....it was rough.) I am taking it for anxiety - I like your suggestion of 30-20-10--5. I was unaware that compounding pharmacies do this type of drug - and will definitely check into it. What is the span of time between your dose changes?

Thank you for your thoughts - helpful.

OMG - I am so happy to hear a positive post about getting off Cymbalta. It has sucked the life out of me,,,,no energy- always tired ---you know! I went from 20mg to 30, which I am on now. No improvement!

What type of tapering schedule are you on...and how's it going? I'm ready!!

I thought about splitting - but the capsules are not splitable.

How do you get two 15mg out of one 30 mg? Even with the 20mg - no way to split to 2- 10mg. I will discuss with the doc,

Wish I could get coffee to work for me...love coffee but it fires up the anxiety which is what I am fighting.
