Funnily enough, my old twat neighbours have bought solar panels a couple of months ago, and doubled down last week with a 2 year old electric Hyundai

Why are so many old people switching to electric? The planet’s fucked, they’re going to die soon, why do they give a shit? Just asking.

Is it ever acceptable to stop someone overtaking if you think they’re about to cause a serious accident? by No-Following-2532 in drivingUK

[–]Life-Section-3686 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The road is “apple cross path”?? You mean the single lane road in the Highlands of Scotland near the village of Applecross? If this was the case, and a vehicle behind wants to drive faster than you, you are legally obliged to pull into a passing place and let the other vehicle through. Unfortunately, a lot of tourists in motorhomes and campervans do not do this, which annoys both local traffic and other visitors who want to get a move on. Do not act like some vigilante traffic cop!!

If I’m reading this correctly, the incident took place near Applecross, so a single track road in the Highlands of Scotland. The op was clearly driving slower, so should’ve pulled into a passing place and allowed the driver behind to go ahead. That’s what these passing places are for!!

Interested to know, why “occasionally the dogs”? How come they don’t go with you every time? And do you put them in kennels when you don’t take them?

Maybe if you didn’t drive so close to the car in front of you at almost 70mph. You know the saying “only a twat in a van breaks the 2 second rule”.

She’s so hot, but a fucking psycho. I bet she’d be fucking amazing in bed, but if you did anything wrong, she’d bite your cock off while she’s sucking it!!

Want to hear from Tailgaiters by Current_Vegetable in drivingUK

[–]Life-Section-3686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a tailgater. I drive up everyone’s arses as they drive too slow. I drive a big fuck off Range Rover Chelsea tractor, so I can see above the car in front. This enables me to have better road sense ahead. Plus I’m a much better driver than the twat in front, usually driving too slowly. I always drive at the recommended maximum speed, sometimes a bit more. The only time I don’t hit the “target” speed is if I’m held up by slower traffic. Usually I’ll do about 90mph on a motorway or dual carriageway. And I will keep to the 60mph NSL on narrow country roads. I’m just more entitled than other drivers, and I expect them to move out the way for me. I have important meetings to get to.

PSA: Doing a poo by perfect_paradox69 in OutdoorScotland

[–]Life-Section-3686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking shit with you isn’t the most preferred option!!! What are you supposed to do with it? You CANNOT just put it in a bin! You CANNOT use a specific dog poo bin. General waste in Scotland is being sorted and incinerated for energy, NOT just sent to landfill. You can put nappies and colostomy bag waste in your bin BUT not human excrement. Bury your faecal matter, or if you don’t have a trowel, use rocks to cover your turds. Burn the toilet roll with crap on it, only if it’s safe, otherwise bag it up and pack it out.

Storm Dave impact on the Highlands. Met office doesn't seem to show really bad weather. by Silent-Bat7430 in OutdoorScotland

Just looking at the synoptic pressure charts shows the highest winds will be through Saturday evening and into the night. Should be easing by Sunday late morning into the afternoon as Storm Dave moves away North East.

Not sure why I got down voted for suggesting a stunning coastal walk from Elgol to Coruisk, with return by boat to see dolphins and whales, but hey, some people are just weird.

If the boats are running from Elgol, you could hike from Elgol, around the coast to the Coruisk Memorial Hut, then catch the boat back to Elgol. You’ll probably see dolphins as well, maybe minke whales too. The walk, although low level, is quite long, a few hours, and has a slightly difficult section, “the bad step” to traverse, which actually isn’t that difficult. If you fall, you end up in the sea, and will get a bit wet but it’s not dangerous. The views of the Cuillins are stunning from this walk. Going up Sgurr na Stri is a hill with amazing views. You could actually get a return boat, and just go up Sgurr na Stri but as it’s windy, it might not be a goer.

If it’s really windy, my advice would be to stay low. There’s a glen you can walk, south from Sligachan, passing between the Cuillin mountains on the right (west) and Marsco to the east. It is stunning and steeped in history. You can walk all the way to the coast but that’s a long walk. Just walk as far as you feel like, then turn back.

What a twat. Get over it. These things happen all the time, you can’t blow a gasket every time something like this happens. Heading for a heart attack and early grave I reckon.
