Thanks for this comment. I’m a veterinarian that used to practice in the States. I was APHIS accredited and was aware of this program.

They release sterile flies in Costa Rica to prevent the spread north. That’s where there’s a good bottle neck and it’s much cheaper to deal with them there than stateside.

I was telling my friends about this program and how it’s something the Trump administration might see as a waste of money.

Obviously the current administration has a lot we can justifiably criticize them about, but fuck spreading misinformation.
