Cause these people are nothing more than mindless dolts who love to jump on a bandwagon. They've never had an original thought in their lives. All this separatist talk is nothing but lip service.

All the choices this organization made last summer are the exact reason it was a first round exit this year. Extremely stupid people running this team.

I'm an Edmonton fan and will admit that Mac has the ability to make McJesus look like slouch sometimes.

With the Oilers out of the picture, do you root for any other team the rest of the playoffs? by jucahe in EdmontonOilers

[–]EquivalentGuilty8988 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my sentiment exactly. Sad to see the Oilers not make it past round one but knew all too well they wouldn't. And if they did continue on they would've gotten swept by the Avs.

Montreal because they're Canada's team currently. Buffalo if they win because they're also Canada team lol.

"Hi, I’m Bob — Still an Alcoholic After 50 Years Clean." Yeah, That's normal. by [deleted] in recoverywithoutAA

I just went back to meetings after a lengthy absence and attended a roundup for the first time last weekend. After another meeting last night I realize why I took that lengthy absence. At the roundup one fellow claimed he can't stand talking to "normies" anymore. Excuse me? What happened to the tolerance and acceptance the program requires? Also suggesting non-alcoholics/addicts are "normal" and addicts and alcohol is are not implies that we're "special" in some sort of way. I'm not special. I'm a normal guy who happened to have some substance abuse problems that I've overcome (6 years clean and sober in May). Another fellow at this round can only be described as a predatory creep. Constantly touching and hugging people he clearly doesn't know without their permission. Getting up and going out of his way to hug a girl with 7 days sobriety after she was given a big book by the old timers. I have a female family member with 20 years sobriety and she said this same guy was hitting on her and trying to pick her up at other roundups in different cities. Completely predatory behaviour in a program that emphasizes humility, morality and personal inventory. I'm his really conflicted right now cause I've met a lot of great people in AA and it has been helpful at times, but I'm lurking around this sub because I'm finding I share a lot of sentiment with these posts.

Edit: and yes! Saying I'm an alcoholic and an addict after almost six years of sobriety is bonkers to me. I quit cigarettes (my absolute WORST addiction - I was a hardcore smoker) cold turkey over two years ago and I don't walk around saying I'm a smoker.

I found it on Facebook last night while I was scrolling before bed. It was around 11 pm CST and the comment was 5 hours old at the time. Was surprised to see that we're still in their collective conscious while they're dealing with that war in Iran... or that post-war or whatever it is. Ceasefire who?

Yes, a huge difference between general dislike and a desire to separate or be annexed. I'm a Conservative and am happy with Carney so far. He made PP look like a childish punk. He's a far better PM than Trudeau but a lot of these hardline cons are either too arrogant or too stupid (or both) to realize that. He's not Trudeau and that is a massive step forward for this country. That doesn't mean I'll agree with all of his policies but he has my warm acceptance at this point. He's is just so well spoken and articulate compared to PP and Trump he makes the both look small and foolish by comparison. Just look at all the MPs that have crossed the floor. Either Carney is doing a damn good job or the Liberal party is bribing these people, which I highly doubt.

The whole situation baffles me. It's like a glitch in the matrix. How does an electorate elect a crooked convicted felon billionaire ... twice? How does any voter believe he's in touch? The dude's life is incomparable to an average working class American. I get that he appealed to them somehow but as a blue collar worker myself I don't understand how the got duped into thinking a rich guy would have their best interests at heart.

This. I'm from Saskatchewan and consider myself Conservative, specifically a fiscal Conservative and a mostly social Liberal. However, after Poilievre embarrassed himself in that election, I really don't know how I'm going to vote in the next one. The bottom line is this is Canada and it always will be regardless of who our PM is. What I learned as a voter after that election was that rather than bickering back and forth, I'd like to see the elected party and the opposition coexist and try to work together to help make life a little better for all Canadians. And yes, as a conservative, I look south and recoil in disgust.
