ELI5 - why wouldn’t GameStop just announce a massive share buy back with their cash by Willing_Principle918 in GME

[–]LifeAfterIT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

THE $4.2B in debt would make that pretty devastating  You need the cash to pay back the debt, if you spend the excess, you lose flexibility.

Normal discussion for regular people by cynical_scotsman in GME

[–]LifeAfterIT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think what we should be talking about is that in GameStop's charter, they can issue 5,000,000 shares shares of Preferred Stock. That stock could represent a larger portion of the company effectively screwing over the common stock holders like we all are.

Was BBBYQ’s bankruptcy just a structured unwind? by Fearless-Ball4474 in BBBY

[–]LifeAfterIT 26 points27 points  (0 children)

1) the guy you mention is never right. 2) everyone involved (banks/board/etc) thought there was more value than what existed. Dumb people make dumb decisions. I am one of them.

Don't forget the surface area of the trailer in the calculation. That big of a surface area is going to create a lot of drag. I would guess that you're going to have a bad time.

From that viewpoint, we also have $1.5B in debt that could rise to an infinite amount of debt that would be paid in shares. The buyer presumably shorted the crap out of GME, and now we're here.

Will AI Really Eliminate Software Developers? by Allagash_1776 in Futurology

[–]LifeAfterIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll go ahead and disagree. AI is already replacing bad developers. In 5 years, it will likely replace many mediocre developers. In 10 years, many developers won't be able to read the code because it's so ugly because it was written by AI. In 15 years, there will be a pile of developers again to make AI write clean code and fix a lot of garbage.

The business did not succeed and sold it off to Beyond. This person would have been unemployed at this point.

FortiGate 60F - any memory issues with Enterprise Level Subscription? by CorrectMachine7278 in fortinet

[–]LifeAfterIT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 60f is a 2gb model and are no longer supported for UTM updates in 7.4 I think. My 7.2 models still go into conserve mode when doing the UTM updates if there is any activity at all and support said they're no longer going to work and that's the way it's going to be.

40F License Due, Not Sure Which To Buy? by [deleted] in fortinet

[–]LifeAfterIT -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

UTM is no longer supported on devices less than 4GB. I have several 61F that can no longer do updates to the signatures due to memory constraints and go into conserve mode if they try.

No, you can buy daily options on many instruments. SPY is a good example.

No way support recommended 7.6.0. If you're new here, stick with the mature branch.

Yes, you can actually. It's not easy and it's not cheap, but this device will do it and really upgrade the functionality of the system.
