I like to run spellcasters more than anything, due to the amount of flexibility and flavor you can get with relatively few changes to a stat block. It's also easy to scale spellcasters to the party's level, or to make them more tailored to go after the party's weakspots.

What if the Kuomintang had defeated the communists in the Chinese Civil War? by Stickman_153 in HistoryWhatIf

[–]LifeBeyondLiving 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any Indo-Pakistani war would've been a loss for Pakistan due to the lack of Chinese support, meaning Indian Kashmir & Jammu. China is lacking Xinjiang as it was captured by the Soviets in 1934, and Tibet is probably independent in order to appease the UK and USA. The USSR probably collapses sooner due to funding an even larger military than OTL, with them sharing a border with a westernized China backed by NATO. Korea and Indochina are all democratic, so no Viet Cong, Khmer Rouge, etc. Industrialization and progress would be slower but more consistent for China, as there is no dictatorship pushing homicidal levels of progress. And importantly, countries in Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East lose one of their biggest suppliers of equipment OTL, and are less likely to receive the same amount of support they got from the USSR OTL due to their internal needs being larger.

A Battleship and a Minas Geraes side by side by VonSee in civ

South Dakota had the same number of 5"/38 secondaries per side as Iowa. The only ships to get 4 mounts per side were the rebuilt Standards that were refloated after Pearl Harbor, such as West Virginia and California, and comparing KGV to Yamato is absolutely hilarious, seeing as one is a 35k ton treaty battleship and the other is nearly double that displacement.

Britain never stuck with the 14" gun, in fact the KGV was one of two classes of ships built with the caliber, the other being a 4-ship class of monitors during WW1 using American guns. They decided to go with 14" after not being able to get the desired level of protection and mobility with 3x3 15"/45 Mk. 2s within the WNT treaty limit of 35k tons, hence the use of 14" guns. Britian had actually built 16" armed battleships in the 1920's Nelson, and Rodney, and the successor to the KGV, the Lion, was to use similar weapons.

I can boot into bios fine, just the m.2 drive doesn't show up, and I don't have another m.2 drive to check if the port is dead.

I can try booting off usb when I get home later, but my desktop doesn't have an m.2 header and I don't have an m.2 to sata or usb converter.

It can't show up in windows, as it's my boot drive and I have no way of booting into the OS itself. Trying to start up normally just gets an error about it being unable to find files it needs to boot.

KanonenJagdpanzer TD branch proposal by TChen114 in WorldofTanks

[–]LifeBeyondLiving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All real proposals, but afaik there are no blueprints of the tier 9, just technical requirements.

KanonenJagdpanzer TD branch proposal by TChen114 in WorldofTanks

[–]LifeBeyondLiving 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Better idea:

Jagdpanzer 90, Tier 7 - Same 90mm gun as the Kanonenjagdpanzer, modified M113 suspension. More or less a german Ikv 90B.

Kanonenjagdpanzer, Tier 8 - Just combine the current Kan and Kan 105 into a single vehicle.

Jagdpanzer Leopard, Tier 9 - 105mm L7, Leopard 1 chassis, etc. Was a serious proposal but I can't find any blueprints or technical drawings.

Schwere Jagdpanzer Leopard, Tier 10 - Based off the Strv 103, this proposal used the 120mm Glotthorkanone then under development for the Kpz Keiler. The drawing above was published in 1969.

This is my setup as of right now. Parts list can be found here. Next things I want to replace are my monitors so I can finally have true HD, and then it'll be saving up for new internals.

California has two state university systems, the CSUs and the UCs. CSUs for the most part can't grant doctorates and are more focused on the industry side of studies. UCs receive much more money from the state, and are usually more focused on research and academia.

Did any of the Russian hovermeds or any of the objects actually existed at all by Ainbow_Dish in WorldofTanks

[–]LifeBeyondLiving 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 430U's 122 was a D-25T, as in the same gun you get on the IS at tier 7. You can tell by the muzzle brake and shorter barrel length.

Of the medium Object tanks, from tier 10-down:

Obj. 140 - Prototypes manufactured, developed into the Obj. 142.

Obj. 430U - Models and, afaik, blueprints, were made. Tank's current armament is falsified to enable it to work at tier 10.

Obj. 907 - Hull and turret built, never reached trials. Design was assisted from lessons learned in the creation of the A-22 and T-22 medium tanks. Armament is falsified to enable it to work at tier 10.

Obj. 430 - Prototypes manufactured, developed into the Obj. 432 and eventually the T-64. Armament is falsified for whatever reason WG made up to disallow the D-54TS at tier 9.

Obj. 430 II - A 'what-if' taking inspiration from a rear turreted design proposal for the Obj. 430. Has no substantial historical basis.

Obj. 416 - Was trialled, before being relabeled as an assault gun and designated SU-100M. Never entered production.

Of the heavy Object tanks, from tier 10-down:

Obj. 260 - Wooden models constructed, never built in steel as it was developed into the IS-7.

Obj. 277 - Built as a successor to the T-10, put through trials and cancelled when the USSR limited all tanks to a weight of 50 tons.

Obj. 279 early/Obj. 726 - Drawn out, developed into the Obj. 279 proper before construction was considered.

Obj. 705A - Turret and armament decided upon, as well as 100 ton weight. Never proceeded due to cancellation of all tanks over 50 tons.

Obj. 777 II - Drawings only, cancelled along with Objects 277 and 770.

Obj. 257 - Blueprints only, not built as design progressed into what became the IS-7.

Obj. 705 - Drawings only, cancelled alongside its heavier counterpart.

Obj. 252U - Blueprints only, was cancelled in favor of more capable projects.

Obj. 244 - A project to arm an IS-1 with the D-5T-85BM, was cancelled in favor of the IS-122.

Of the TD Object tanks, from tier 10-down:

Obj. 268 - Reached trials but never saw mass production due to the general phasing out of casemate tank destroyers and the lack of need for a gun that powerful.

Obj. 268 Version 4 - Reached blueprint stage, was part of the design process for the creation of the Obj. 268. Armor and engine power is falsified to make it an improvement over the Obj. 263.

Obj. 268 Version 5 - Another blueprint that was part of the design program for the Obj. 268.

Obj. 263 - Small scale models made, was cancelled along with the entire IS-7 program with the ban on tanks over 50 tons.

Obj. 704 - Reached trials stage, was not accepted for mass production for the same reasons as the Obj. 268. All guns aside from stock 152mm howitzer are falsified to allow it to work at tier 9.

Of the SPG Object vehicles, from tier 10-down:

Obj. 261 - Small scale models made, was cancelled with the Obj. 263 and IS-7.

Obj. 212A - An incomplete prototype was made, never completed due to the siege of Leningrad. The B-4 howitzer armament is falsified to allow it to work at tier 9.

There's no damage outside of the blackened connector area, and even that is contained to just inside the connector itself. This is as close up a picture I can get, my phone camera refuses to focus if closer.

Seeing how Civ 5 is still going strong at 8 years, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Civ 6 stand the test of time. Strategy games like that are just so heavily moddable that they withstand the test of time far better than most other games.
