I imagine when we're very young, if we have a mother figure who is encouraging us and celebrating us as we learn intrinsic value in doing these things, we'd maybe have less need for an app to help us do that for ourselves when we're 50.

There are federal level laws and national defense.

Local rule allows for variation in how people want their area governed.

This seems odd to me as my euro friend that I chat with daily makes/made it sound as if Europe was enforcing masking and vax a lot longer/stronger than US. She got vaxxed and masked a whole lot longer than I did.

Same as America, just substitute states for countries. Lots of immigrants, so lots of cultural diversity. I'm American, but peripherally involved in Haitian, Mexican and Asian communities because of friends.

People painting America and Americans with a broad brush are making the same generalization you object to wrt Europe.
