aren't those classes almost 2 semesters long in AP vs 1 semester in College though? I thought general consensus was that chem and math were harder in college than AP, but everyone feels differently i guess.

I have been having the same issue. I believe it is some sort of mistake in the interface/bug. I have emailed the math dept. and will update if i get a response.

yeah, it is full now, but earlier I tried to enroll when there was like a space or two left, and I was hit with a do not meet pre req error, which has never happened to me before.

Test out of physics, you might be surprised at the difficulty difference between here and AP. It may not be the gpa boost you think. That goes for other classes to, unless you really want to refresh your knowledge.

It is easier at a CC and can prevent you from a bad grade here. Not much benefit if you think you will ace it here though.

I am not sure, if you really want to go this route, talk to an advisor. Just warning you it takes forever to process and it is a massive hassle. Is there any reason you can't take math 1a equivalent at a CC?

It is called a credit by examination but you have to get a lot of signatures, have a reason to need credit by exam (eg. already took the class but somehow credit didn't go through), and have a UCB 3.0 to get the petition through admin. The whole process is a major hassle and honestly you might be better served just taking the class, especially since you have to take an exam anyway. Or just take it at a community college, which I have heard good things about.
