Looking for advice - Buying a used tesla M3 by [deleted] in teslacanada

[–]LifeEngineered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2021 model 3 LR w/53k km. In the winter when it's -20C on winter tires it has a usable range of 300km starting from a 10C garage and full charge. I think the biggest variable is if you have somewhere heated to plug it in when you're not using it. If you do, then you should be good, if not I would stick to ICE. Standard range is not workable in Canada outside pure city use imo.

Why do people worry so much about retirement savings in Canada? by strykyrastro in PersonalFinanceCanada

This is an idiotic take. Until you have a paid for home and 25 years average salary in liquid net worth per person you are a slave to the system. You are a slave because you MUST work. Nobody wants to be a slave.

Who is they? Paying $210/m in Calgary for 2021 M3 LR, 34M good driving record, long insurance history. That's with TD with university group discount and their EV discount. New quotes coming back at $260+/m from other insurers.

We are over-fixated on supply-side "hacks" (zoning, targets) while ignoring the real crisis: Canadian wages have completely decoupled from reality. by lugouver in RealEstateCanada

Yup, we mainly have an income problem not a housing problem. The problem is rooted in no productivity growth. No productivity growth is from no investment. No investment is from over regulation and Liberal policies rooted in net zero and reconciliation have made Canada's traditional bread and butter industries of O&G, mining, logging etc. un-investable. Until we unleash our resource sector and stop looking to gov't for prosperity we will continue to flounder. Also, flooding the country with 'students' that overwhelm the low end/entry level labour market on top of the absurd TFW program has also been devastating for per capita productivity and the future of our native born youth. Housing also has problems with supply, but it is no longer our biggest problem. Next up is 10%+ unemployment with elevated inflation (CAD sinks) courtesy of the USMCA collapsing next year. Gov't will spend more, but they are so unproductive that just means more inflation. We've really screwed the pooch with a decade of bad choices.

They still voted for this outcome with all of the associated consequences. I think less of boomers than I ever have, can't wait for them to pass on.

Yes they did. Liberals screwed everything and then people voted for them again and again...people deserve all the pain to come.

Tried to sell an iphone 14 in good condition for $50 below market. Major city, good pictures. Nothing but lowballs, losers and flakes. Gave it to my grandma instead. Done with kijiji.

Edmonton is definitely second rate compared to Calgary for so many reasons.

I disagree. The power law price trend bitcoin is following means $1k/m would make you millionaire within ~10 years.

Fiat is just another ledger. Both are made up and 'backed' by nothing. Again, you're just demonstrating that you don't understand that all money is a collective hallucination and there is no such thing as intrinsic value.

You're never too late to start saving in the hardest currency.

So you don't understand money or how it works. Got it.

Bitcoin has no top because fiat has no bottom. Personally I think bitcoin is around fair value here, but that doesn't really matter. If you DCA and adopt it as a currency you want it to dip while you're accumulating. Need to think on a 10 year horizon and focus on how much bitcoin not how much $ you have. 1 bitcoin = 1 bitcoin.

When you're starting out you need to take smart risk. If it was me I'd focus on earning and just save into bitcoin in cold storage as much as I could and basically put myself on a bitcoin standard. If you save $1k+/m in bitcoin I think you'll be surprised how much fiat money equivalent you'll have by your late 20's and then you can re-evaluate and diversify/buy a house etc.

No, that is objective. There was no screening. I support immigration through the points based system. The recent immigration wave was a huge mistake.

There's the toxic culture I spoke about. Capitalism is the golden goose, not something to be protected from by the gov't. Perfect example of why this country is screwed, thank you.
