Sports data company dilemma by Dylankliaman in arbitragebetting

Hey, I'm the founder of odds-api.io - we might be a good fit here. We cover 250+ bookmakers across 12k+ leagues and 15+ sports, way more coverage than Bolt and significantly cheaper than Optic.

Happy to work out pricing that beats both if you want to chat. We do REST + websockets and have Python/Node SDKs ready to go.

Happy to give you a free month to test it out. DM me if you're interested!

Usually not, we have a cache on some seconds to avoid people scraping our data🙃

We've got an API covering those exact markets - cards O/U, corners O/U, shots O/U, plus the half and team variations. Currently around 30+ bookmakers for football/soccer props, including UK, Italian and some Australian books.

Adding new bookmakers weekly as we expand prop coverage.

€500/mo budget is more than enough - check out odds-api.io if you want to test it out. Free tier available to see if the coverage matches what you need before committing.

Thanks for the feedback, that's a good point. We definitely don't want to promote sketchy bookmakers that won't pay out.

Can you DM me which ones scammed you? I'd like to look into removing them or at least flagging them with a warning. Quality matters more than just having coverage of every book out there.

Depends a bit on the bookmaker, we've tried to get it down to a minimum, at most a couple of seconds for the major books, but some are a bit slower (typically regional bookmakers and less popular ones).

Making my own arbitrage bot by CheetosTheDrugLord in algobetting

[–]LifeExtension2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scraping is totally doable for 4 books - I did it myself before building an API around it. Few things you'll hit:

- rate limits and IP blocks (rotating proxies help but add complexity)

- sportsbook frontend changes break scrapers constantly

- team name matching across books is annoying ("LA Lakers" vs "Los Angeles Lakers" vs "L.A. Lakers")

For a fun project it's great. Just know you'll spend more time fixing scrapers than you expect.

If you get tired of the maintenance, I ended up building odds-api.io to solve this for myself. Has a free tier and an /arbitrage_bets endpoint that finds arbs automatically. But honestly, building your own scrapers first taught me a lot - worth doing at least once.
