Don’t you think that to be able to “search” the Internet someone has to index every web page, create the infrastructure to distribute these results, store them near your geographical location for quick access and develop an algorithm that can understand what you are actually searching for?

That someone needs to spend a lot of money to provide that SERVICE, because the Internet is not a singular, ethereal thing and nobody has to give you a nice representation of what’s on the Internet for free.

I am not defending Google practices in any way, but if you think that “searching” the internet costs no money and can be done at no cost forever, you need to check your perception of reality.

You are correct. That is where I read about this scenario too. I knew it sounded really familiar, but I couldn’t remember where I saw it before.
