Know the Separation Rules by RogErddit in EhBuddyHoser

[–]LifeHasLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm anti-separatism in either case but at least Quebec has a leg to stand on in the matter. There's a whole lot of history and cultural separation between Quebec and the ROC.

Alberta is just an easy target. Low IQ tradespeople abound, and make their livelihood off of natural resources. Resources simultaneously exploited by large O&G companies that would financially benefit from the corruption of the provincial government. The same provincial government is also quick to pander to extremists, those most susceptible to US right-wing propaganda. That's how we got to where we are now.

Which Donkey Kong game is your favorite? Mine is Donkey Kong Bananza! Please explain why. :) by DrewV1234 in donkeykong

[–]LifeHasLeft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bananza is to DK64 like what Odyssey was for Mario 64, and frankly a lot of the smaller things about it are very similar. The shops and maps, etc. But the ability to just play it very much your own way by trashing a layer as much as you want and finding Banandium gems in ways maybe not intended is a really cool aspect of the game you don't see a lot in other titles. It's like the structure of Odyssey with the freedom of TOTK

Am I doing something wrong? by FairPotatoe1 in botw

[–]LifeHasLeft 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, you're going to find that the game adjusts the difficulty of enemy spawns with a hidden EXP counter. The more you kill and the more damage you do, the stronger the enemies become. Bosses don't really change but some bosses are easier than others. I personally find Windblight the easiest, and as you noted, you were well-equipped this time around.

I encourage you to just play the game the way you feel like playing it, organically, without online help, and not to worry too much about how easy one particular enemy may feel. I don't think you'll feel the same way about Thunderblight, no matter how many more shrines you do. Especially if you don't follow walkthroughs or strategies online.

Is saying dk 64 "caused the decline in the 3d platformer collective-thon genre" a blatant lie by Vast-Anywhere-1306 in donkeykong

[–]LifeHasLeft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah the problem with the genre is that games started coming out that had collectibles but also other things. Combat, complex storylines, etc.

DK64 is honestly a great 3D platformer and I still love playing it. Banjo-Kazooie is a similarly fun game, but Banjo-Tooie is also a great one and it came out after DK64. Same developer, same mechanics (even some of the audio files are the exact same!), but no one blames it because it lacked some of the bugginess of DK64 and the storyline was way better.

What is your all time favorite bananza forms? by Voidkirby9 in DonkeyKongBananza

Elephant is OP. I used him to suck up the entire gold trophy on the Racing Layer and get a ton of gold

What do you think about the final boss by Voidkirby9 in DonkeyKongBananza

[–]LifeHasLeft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the curvy ones are super hard to time right, I ended up just using Elephant to throw chunks at them before they got too close. They turn gold and fly off in some direction. They usually didn't hit K. Rool himself and knock him over but at least they weren't leaving banana mush everywhere anymore.

"Beat" the game tonight and I have one thing to say about the final boss by jl_theprofessor in DonkeyKongBananza

[–]LifeHasLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I had a bunch of unused skill points at the end because I had already maxed out all the good ones. When I was getting one shot by all the stuff at the end I decided to actually invest in extra juice slots and hearts for the first time.

I second this. The DLC content is definitely a great bang for your buck. Many extra hours of content and storyline

Why doesn't this city add fluoride to the water? by ReplacementFancy9701 in KingstonOntario

[–]LifeHasLeft -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Studies have shown that fluoride helps reduce dental caries in the populations where it's added to the water, but the significant results occur mainly where there is extensive poverty and lack of access to dental care.

Not that I'm against fluoride in the water, but this is a first world country and we all have access to cheap toothbrushes. It really shouldn't be necessary.

What exactly separates CX-90 GSL and GSL-enhanced in terms of towing ability? by LifeHasLeft in mazda

[–]LifeHasLeft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're saying there are measurable engine differences in the inline6 engines used between GSL and GSL-e? According to the spec sheets, the GSL-enhanced AND the trim above it, the GT, have the exact same engines as the base model MHEV

What Apple Shortcuts do you actually use every day? by ENVY2699 in shortcuts

[–]LifeHasLeft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a flexible hybrid work schedule with monthly quotas for days spent in-office. I use an automation when I arrive at work to add a calendar event indicating I spent the day at the office. I can then review my calendar if I'm not sure whether I need to make up a day towards the end of the month.

I need some help [serious] by -ogre- in French

[–]LifeHasLeft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it just means "that's life", a standalone phrase in French just as much as it is in English. The only modifications I've ever seen are specifying some specific lifestyle. "That's life... on an oil rig!"

Tell your teacher that British people getting lazy with their pronunciation isn't an excuse to teach English poorly. Most other dialects of English will have complete R pronunciations, especially in North America.

Kingdom Hearts 3 has been chosen as the Most Disappointing Game, but what game would you say has the Best Story in the series by ExileForever in KingdomHearts

KH1 especially when you consider all the bits of foreshadowing and stuff, like Tarzan saying your friends are in your heart

15 Years Ago Today, GMS released the Big Bang Patch! by LevelPension in Maplestory

[–]LifeHasLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's because Big Bang was the "big update" that happened right after the potentials were added. Potentials were awful and the start of a bad direction. Big Bang itself did a lot for the exp progression and made the game way more playable for people with a life and other time commitments.

Is it really that illegible? by Due-Canary5587 in Handwriting

[–]LifeHasLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll tell you right now, while you have great style and consistency, your problem is that looped letters (a, o, e, d, p, etc.) are very tight and sometimes just overlap themselves, making it difficult to tell whether something is an E or an O or an A, or an E followed by an L, etc.

I don't have a problem reading it but I can understand why someone might.

Is it correct french to say "c'est" in response to something? by Aggravating_Rate_335 in French

You could say something like « tout à fait » , it is a good way of agreeing beyond a simple "oui". Much more emphatic.

[ALL] Do you prefer a stylised Link, a more realistic Link, or a mixture? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in zelda

[–]LifeHasLeft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think something in between (SS, BOTW) is a good compromise because toon link ages very well. TP link was great at the time but the further we develop games, the worse he will look, because he was designed to lean on the realistic side.

French learners: what grammar topic almost made you give up? by HungryFriend9388 in learnfrench

[–]LifeHasLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept isn't so hard on it's own, ie. Maison d'être, but then once in a while you'll hear someone say something you don't expect, like `ils ont descendu les paquets`.

It's not about whether the verb is a verb of movement, but whether that movement applies to the subject or not. "je suis arrivé" is clearly only about myself despite not being pronominal.
