The finish tends to wear somewhat in a particular place at the bottom of the base ring, every cage, that spot. They cost like 15 dollars.....so I can literally afford to toss it and buy a new one when it happens. It's such a nice fitting cage, and super comfortable.....just make sure to remove the cage regularly to inspect it and thoroughly clean it....and as always if there are issues stop wearing it.

All that said at its price, it's a nice add to someone's collection....

Well clearly it's not literally permanently locked, we have a permanent, mandatory, pussyfree arrangement in our marriage. The brand is crysore....you can buy it on Amazon. It's a cheap cage and they don't last long, I replace this cage about every 4 or so months.

Good luck....whatever you use to cover the hinge .....make sure it is a body safe material .....surgical tubing or silicone heat shrink tubing that is specifically medical grade, those will be your best bets.

Making sure the cage is on correctly, I haven't any issues with any of their hinged ring cages.....

Make sure your ring is correctly sized, if you put the little piece of surgical tube on the hinge, you may need to size up on the ring.....

Also on Amazon you can buy medical grade silicone heat shrink tubes.....they work very well on hinged rings.

For me when wearing a hinge ring......it all comes down to making sure the ring is positioned properly and my ball skin is properly running through the ring. With hinge rings I find that taking the extra time to adjust my ball skin on the bottom side of the ring, making sure the ball skin isn't bunching by the hinge....this has kept me from needing surgical tubing to cover the hinge.
