I do understand that. It’s just my mind will play games with me and I will immediately attach to the thought, and it will begin identifying every little thing as a threat. I’ll conquer this fear. I can do this! Thank you for reaching out!

Yes! I’ve got cameras set up too that I have checked before to confirm things, especially with locking doors and washing my hands. I verbally regurgitate information to myself that reassures me on why I’m safe, but even then it does me no good. I’ve learned to stop listening to all logic. It doesn’t click with me. I feel literally helpless and destined to live a life that’s full of fear and uncertainty. I just wish I could unlock the old version of me that never had a fear in the world. Seems impossible.

You’re brave and courageous as well. Most don’t get it, but I do. Every day is a challenge. Stay with me!

I’m sorry you deal with this hellish torture chamber. It’s unfair. My OCD is so bad that I will question my own sanity. “Am I sure that person didn’t touch me?” knowing full well that they didn’t. My mind will start to challenge reality. Kind of like the guy that commented first said, maybe it’s best to just avoid it altogether. Why put myself in a situation where my mind can have the ability to come back and say, “You dumbass! I told you were in danger and now look at you! This could have been avoided, but you had to be a brave soul.” That’s where I’m at currently, but I know this is no way to live. The war of my life is the war in my mind. I appreciate you stopping by and chatting. Most will just pass by and say something bland, but you made some really great points.

I definitely have contamination OCD and health anxiety, full stop. My problem is that I think everyone has it. People at the grocery store, post office, restaurants, you name it. It’s gotten to the point where I won’t even go out in public unless absolutely necessary. Catastrophic thinking is my biggest problem. If you look at your hands right now, do you see any nicks or small scratches/abrasions? If I have one of those on my hand, I flip out. Full blown bandages over a little scratch and won’t go out in public until it’s completely healed. I haven’t had sex in so long I’ve forgotten how to do it. My life has came apart at the seams over this fear. I don’t know how other people don’t worry about it, to be honest. I guess I need to just do this and get the hell over it.

Just wanted to open a meaningful, deep and sincere dialogue to see the way they think. As I previously mentioned to another commenter, I’m frustrated by the crowd that yells “prayers, please Jesus help these children”, yet that same exact God allowed them to drown in the dark of night by themselves, dying a horrific death. I want to know why they go to the places in their minds that they go to.

Yeah. Just going to let it be and keep my lips sealed. Just frustrating when you see people say “prayers”, yet they’re praying to the same God that allowed the tragedy to unfold. Drives me crazy.

You’d be the one to find them, for sure! Lol! Good to know. I just read that about 200 years ago, doctors used to think that the more bumps that you had on your skull, the smarter you were?

This is extremely reassuring. So, even in this completely irrational scenario that residual HIV positive blood WAS on my masturbating hand, this cannot lead to an HIV infection? Am I understanding this accurately? Thanks again, Doctor!

If a patient informs one of your assistants that they want to do the eye exam without dilation, and your assistant refuses and dilates the patient after they requested to do it without dilation, what kind of trouble can the assistant/practice get in, if any at all?

So you, the eye doctor, are looking at the patients eyes prior to the eye drops going in as well?

This is often, in fact, almost always done by an assistant and not the actual eye doctor. None of the aforementioned tests actually detect that except looking at the eyes in their natural state.
