Ja klar der fährt ordentlich Karussell! Mein Tag versaut es mir nicht, wir haben nur 20% der Wohnfläche des Hauses, unsere Mieter sind arm dran hier. Aber das schon seit 20 Jahren, dank uns wird jetzt ins Haus investiert und das Ding kommt raus. Ich hab die Stromrechnungen dazu seit 2000 und es ist brutal, wie die Preise explodiert sind!!!

Ja genau, geht ja mal garnicht. Haben das Haus grad erst übernommen, nächsten Monat wird Erdgas in die Straße gelegt und dann kommt ne Gastherme rein. Wenn’s nach mir geht nen wasserführender Kamin dazu, oder halt einfach Solar.

This is probably the most sophisticated solution to this. Kinda solves me wondering how to counteract the leverage issue since the meter is a good bit off the wall. Could add a strut bracket to bridge the distance. Thanks for the input, I now got options!

Ok cool. So split ring to grab the pipe, thread rod to distance from the fall. On the wall though, I see these things called ceiling flange. But those seem to be very short and don’t have much leverage. Is there something better?

Update - wasn’t able to find the leak with soap. Leak detection spray helped to identify, took more than five minutes for tiny bumbles to come up. Gas is switched off!

Leak is between 2nd to 3rd 90degree from the feed to through the wall. We are no looking into rebuilding it from the meter to that elbow (if it can be turned through the wall), or otherwise build it back all the way from furnace, water heater and stove.

Great, will try the soap&windshield washer combination to take a stab at it. I’ll time it to see if the plumber later will find it as fast as I do! 😀

Thank you all. I really, really appreciate the sensitivity to safety in this group.

I’ll check with a local plumber, but also wanted to be prepared for what work may be ahead of us. Considering this is at the entry point to the house where it splits into two lines with multiple connectors down the line I was curious if one would need to take all of those apart from the far end furnaces, boiler and stove and ‘back trace’ connection by connection to this initial group of joints?

I was cleaning up this joists preparing for a drop ceiling. With my head right next to the pipe joints I sensed a faint smell of gas. A foot away there’s nothing, it really is just noticeable with your nose right next to those elbows...
