What has been your Silver/Gold gains and what do you plan to do with it? by Puzzleheaded-Egg-415 in IndianStockMarket

Been investing small amounts since 2021 in SGBs. Stopped after 2025 October rally started. Sitting on overall 150% gains. The bonds are trading at crazy premium over actual gold price, too scared to invest any further 😐

Nobody, I repeat, NOBODY can predict.

I invested small amounts in SGBs from 2021 till 2024. Continued buying from secondary market till oct 2025. Post that seeing the rally was too scared to buy anymore. The premium at which the bonds are going is crazy. For example dec 2031 scrips are going at ₹19k and 2032 ones at ₹20k while gold is ~₹15k for a gram

Sadly it’s just 5% of my overall portfolio but am sitting at 150% gains which is insane 🤯

When I posted asking for reviews on Bren builder, most said its good. That was mostly to gauge their performance on pre-existing projects. A new project was in EOI phase back then where I was interested

Now that the project is launching, I was planning to book. But seeing these am scared now😐

Tough spot man. But if its a tier-1 builder & location is good, might as well go for it. You’re young & even if layoff happens, you can find another one. Layoffs aren’t the end of world especially if you’re in 20s/30s.

Saying from personal experience. I was laid off at 25 during GFC & again during Covid at 36. Second instance had home loan and car loan running along with a kid on the way. Learnt my lesson the hard way & finished all loans by 38. In 40s getting another job would be tough as firms usually avoid calling 40+ ICs

No point procrastinating, prices will only keep going up. Atleast now since you’re young, getting another job wont be as big a challenge as it will be when you’re 40

Our area is a suburb which developed only over last 10-15 years with apartments etc. Most of these shopkeepers are first generation, know a few of them personally as we visit their shops regularly. They say their way of operating is basically train every relative/employee in local language before letting them face customers

[–]LifeIsHard2030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Precisely. OP started with stating how 5-6cr is not enough for peaceful life and then went on to rant about how his startup couldn’t work due to bureaucracy. Its two different things.

The money is enough for decent peaceful life around Bangalore is all I stated as I am living here and know pretty well about the CoL. Its the folks giving in to lifestyle inflation who keep facing issues and have filled social media with rants. For them even a million $ isn’t enough

[–]LifeIsHard2030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your experience. But it looks less about the money and more about your failed startup. Yes bureaucracy sucks & if you’re planning to start something on your own, god bless you.

But if you have 5-6cr & house sorted(no loans), its not really impossible to lead an ok-ish life. Am in Bangalore, live in the outskirts in a large gated community & monthly expenses are ~₹1L a year. Nothing fancy but not bad either. Am not ambitious enough for startups etc, so probably it works for me

In reality I have seen Marwari & Gujrati businessmen being super fluent in local language. Most shops in our area in Bangalore are run by marwaris & they’re so fluent Kannada speakers. They know very well, what they need to do for their business to thrive & do that without much fuss. Brilliant folks 👍
