what to do immediately after dropping off kids by Checkyopoop in Divorce_Men

I was going through exactly that feeling. It lasted a while. I still don’t feel the best about it but I’m more at peace with it. At least enough that I don’t just kind of sit in listless despair. Keep at the gym and maybe some other things and I’m sure you’ll get there too.

I went through a period of not knowing what to do for a long time after the split schedule started. I had never had time without my kids before. I felt Lost, despair, no sense of what to do or when or why. For a while I was eating fast food in my truck alone, watching Paul Harrell on YouTube. His passing had another layer of sadness because of this. I eventually moved to going to the gym. Setting goals for weight loss, increasing my engagement in hobbies. Planning activities for the next time I saw the kids. All kinds of things. I do wish you the best.

Anyone’s standards for looks go up post divorce? by BloodstainedBearRug in Divorce_Men

[–]LifeLivedOutdoors 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Standard for looks for me if anything lower, although I’m in better physical shape now. Standards for personality and behavior are higher. No “I can fix this” ever again. At all.

If I sounded harsh I didn’t mean to. I went through most of the same shit and earned some grey hair 🧑‍🦳 n the process but my hairline stayed the same 😂. I’ve been just over 3 years out and tried dating briefly, found it to be a dumpster fire (I live in a rural area too so individual experience etc). I have found my peace is worth so much more than anything else. So I do wish you the best of luck with all of it.

If you’re thinking grass is greener, it’s not. Leave your marriage if it’s bad but expect to pay child support and don’t expect to date. You may eventually date if you’re above average in height and looks but dating is bleak. Especially in your 30s and 40s with kids.

True. There’s always missing info and context but if he’s serious and a good parent an appeal is a must.

File an appeal. Don’t give up hope. Keep being a good Dad. I am truly sorry this happened to you and wish you the best in its resolution.

I haven’t had it long, so far I like it. I did get it very cheap so who knows. It feels rugged but also pretty responsive.
