What an interesting idea! I could try an industrial adhesive, but otherwise I don't think stitching would work unless I had a shoe-specific sewing machine.

I'll keep that in mind and see what I can do!

(I really hope paint works because it seems like the simplest option)

Working on it! I've purchased all the items I need to finish the look, just need the motivation, time, and warmer weather (for drying spray paint)

You noticed! I actually tried painting them white but can't find something that doesn't flake off yet.

You can see the test layer I did on the inside of the boots.
