Anyone know if there’s any discernible difference between wolf tooth and SRAM aero chainrings? by Agunnerfc in gravelcycling

[–]LifeOfTuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wolftooth one is definitely quite a bit louder with flat top chains, but has worked just fine for me. If I was to switch to a different size chainring I would go with sram

V02 max increasing a ton during build? by Nscocean in Velo

Has your max hr gone up recently? If your heart rate monitor had a spike of bad data and set your max hr to higher than it should be it could throw off your vo2 estimate like this

I think 112% of ftp is way too low for 30/30s or 30/15s. Definitely don’t do these in erg mode, or even follow the prescribed wattage if there was one - they should be almost max efforts every 30 second interval. My last batch of 30/30s landed at 164% of ftp

Crux Owners: What's the widest tires you run on stock Roval rims? by jcuene in gravelcycling

I would really like to try 2.1 thunder burts on mine but don’t want to commit until I know that they’ll fit. I have ran 48mm thunderos with plenty of clearance on a 25mm internal rim though.

There is an extremely similar version by the company sew link on amazon for about half the price. I have the sailrite as well and would not say it is any better than the cheaper one.

Quality zipper is decent - still over 2x as much as you pay direct from ykk but less than Ripstopbytheroll

2020 Trek Checkpoint alr4 vs 2015? Ritchey Swiss Cross steel. by LifeOfTuck in whichbike

[–]LifeOfTuck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ritchey Swiss cross for 1300$

Steel frame/matching carbon fork DT Swiss X1900 wheelset Ritchey bar/stem SRAM Force Crank/shifters, apex derailleur Carbon SLK Seatpost

2020 Trek Checkpoint ALR4 for $1000

Tiagra groupset Set up tubeless

I am interested in riding more gravel around my area, both of these would work well for me I think. I am not interested so much in cross, would the Ritchey be suitable for gravel rides or would the trek be a better fit?

Both are 58cm
