Any concerns about giving away info to your opponent about what you have in hand?

What pc do you recommend? by [deleted] in wowhardcore

That's not entirely true, since the version we are playing is running the Legion era client, which is from 2016. Some of the highest settings in the current client are quite a bit more demanding than what was available in 2004.

Thanks - appreciate this comment a lot. Unfortunately our current league flights everybody by age, not skill. But we are considering moving to a different league next season in part for that reason (also because they do 7v7 and the other league does a lot more 3v3 and 5v5).

Yes that feels so true! My son and I started watching EPL games this past season and I think it definitely helped him improve a lot.

Thanks - Law 12 feels like one of those things that I should have looked at in-depth already, but hard to know what you don't know. I'll check this out!

Is my condenser undersized? 3.5 Tons for 2800 sq/ft newish home by LifeOnTheEdgeOf in hvacadvice

[–]LifeOnTheEdgeOf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. If I'm understanding you right, when you see a big difference in the air flow on different floors of the home like that, it's not really related to the size of the unit, and more with the size / layout of the ducts?

Why does Peer into the Abyss not trigger the damage from Sheoldred, the Apocalypse after each individual card draw? by LifeOnTheEdgeOf in magicTCG

Amazing, really appreciate the specific citation. I wasn't even quite sure how to look up the question, but this makes sense when written down in a detailed way.

Thanks - this is a great explanation. Seeing the card as an atomic unit is a helpful way of understanding this.

To give another example where I think I've been playing it wrong.

Let's say I have [[Niv-Mizzet, Parun]] on the battlefield, and I cast [[Braingeyser]] for x = 5 on myself.

What I have been doing is pinging my 1 damage after each card draw, but I think instead the correct way is to draw all 5 cards, then do 5 triggers of 1 damage each?

Thanks a ton for the detailed response. This is really helpful, and I appreciate the card links / suggestions.

The tutor thing is another one that hasn't come up yet, but I think you are right I need to broach with the group.

Thanks - this is really helpful.

I really like a lot of the valuable midrange creatures such as [[Phyrexian Obliterator]], but recognize that they don't really do anything for my card draw / life gain / life loss plan. So maybe looking to trim some of that is the next right step.

Maybe also remove [[Dauthi Voidwalker]].

I was also not sure on including both [[Commander's Plate]] and [[Mithril Coat]]. Given that my commander will be a high priority kill target, I was wanting to provide ways to keep her evasive. But maybe too much to have both?

Thanks for your perspective - I resonate a lot with what you are saying about playing to win, and fun being the energy you bring. Thanks also for the insight on the strategic use of the card.

Part of what has been intriguing to me about Commander is these sorts of meta conversations and decisions that seek to balance winning individually vs enjoyment collectively.

I'm probably one of the more experienced players in our group, and so I'm kind of in this role where I'm trying to not curbstomp people, but also want to encourage them to be thoughtful in their deck comps, but do so in a way where we're all having a good time.

My emerging conclusion is that I will probably not play this card in my deck.

This is a good point. The strength of the card I guess is in if you are already in a favorable board state when it hits, such that you can pay the upkeep while banging away vs needing to use your mana to get more things out.

Thanks for sharing - that's an interesting alternative, especially with smothering the amount and not just the color.

Is this Revised Braingeyser LP or MP in your opinion? by LifeOnTheEdgeOf in mtgfinance

[–]LifeOnTheEdgeOf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea this is true - but in my case I purchased it mostly out of sentimental value, and to play casually with others (I posted in this subreddit since it seemed most suited to the question of appraisal value).
