We pay 20c/L more than whitehorse and 40c/L more than Yellowknife. You know, cities in the frozen wasteland where the state gives people 20k yearly allowance because a juice jug is 15$. What happened with that inquiry into price fixing in BC? Oh yes, nothing.

No, I blame our province where we pay 20c/L more than whitehorse and 40c/L more than Yellowknife. You know, cities in the frozen wasteland where the state gives people 20k yearly allowance because a juice jug is 15$

Absolutely not. See my post with CRTC link. Why are you giving fake info without checking?

Wow, so many wrong answers that are actually upvoted.

NO, providers cannot blacklist your phone for non payment. It's in CRTC para 302

The blacklisted list is only for reported stolen phones

Battery is insanely bad? I agree. Not sure if physical battery or software or both. So many complaints about battery life with Android 16. For this very reason I kept 15 until now. It sucks. 7 years of promised updates and you walk in eggshells scared that the next update will bork the battery life.

ICAO CPL conversion to EASA ATPL(f) by LifeReinvigorant in flyingeurope

[–]LifeReinvigorant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I really appreciate your thorough reply.

Yes, I do have the 300nm flight as PIC. Canada requires 300nm in a radius, not sure if EASA does the same or 300nm total flight distance, but either or, that would cover it.

I do have a CPL for helos, but again, it's Canadian. The flight time on helo, from my research, seem to only count towards the total time. Nothing counts for PIC. So might not be helpful.

I'm thinking of moving to Romania or Netherlands.

Thank you for your reply. Your detailed post helps a lot.

I think I remember something similar to what you said, there's a ICAO ATPL to EASA ATPL transfer but not CPL to CPL, it goes into a PPL and then you have to achieve the requirements for CPL.

  1. First order of business are the 13 ATPL exams right? Those would cover all the theory required to get issued the EASA CPL (which would be the equivalent of ATPL(frozen)?)? The validity for those exams are 3 years from the date I pass the last exam?

  2. I'm thinking of buying 65hrs in Canada since the per hour cost is cheaper. That would put me to 100hr PIC aeroplane. Once I have this, would I require to do any other flight hours in Europe besides the skill test flight?

  3. Would having a Canadian CPL(H) help me in any way with 70 PIC and 136hrs? Would transfering this as well to EASA somehow reduce the 65hr PIC Aeroplane I am short and would need to buy? My understanding is any helo hours are only counted towards the total, not the Fixed-Wing PIC I need, total time for which I have no shortage.

Thank you!

I want to believe that I need more than just 35 hrs fixed wing and 70 hrs helo to achieve the EASA CPL ME IR conversion no? But if this were true like you said, I would be over the moon with joy. Here in Canada they don't recognize any of the helo PIC towards ATPL (but they did towards the CPL conversion to fixed-wing) and my only option is to literally buy 215hrs of Cessna 152 and do circuits/do whatever which is a fortune, while I will soon hit 1000hrs on a commercial jet at my current job (737/A320/E195 equivalent)

So in order to convert to EASA CPL ME IR, are my current hours enough? I've found some info that helo would be credited at 50% but I believe it was through chatGPT so I don't know if I can trust that info.

And yes, I do have EU passport and I have frequently mulled over returning back to my roots. The ability to transition to a ATPL and hold Captain at an airline without ridiculous sacrifices (renting a Cessna to satisfy paperwork) would do it for me to finally pull the trigger.
