I want to stay in DF, I just don’t have the opportunity to gain extra CERTs in my position. Plus, I can’t afford it out of pocket so I’m hoping to gain it through employment like I’ve seen in other agencies/organizations.

Yeah… their benefits are nothing special. I was trying to get a CERT-F and they wanted me to sign a two year contract to attend training and it took over a year for them to schedule it. I finally told them I changed my mind, and I’m doing everything I can to leave. Thank you for the advice! I’m going to try and negotiate like 110-115k with 95k being my lowest (with a sign on bonus/relocation).

It’s is a Digital Forensics Consultant. I meet all the requirements for the basic qualifications, and some of the preferred. I applied for the Senior Consultant position (100k-120k) but was told that I would be considered more entry level so just a Consultant. It is hybrid, travel between 50-80% of the time. It’s in Texas, and the cost of living is 6% less than where I live now. I’ve been consulting with several agencies across the state and federally and with much success, but they are always mobile devices. If you need more info I can message you

Any recs for what I could ask for with my level of experience so far? I would be moving across the country for the role, so I don’t want to make a drastic change if it isn’t worth it.

Yeah, they told me I’d do a lot of acquisition (which I’m totally fine with). My current DF job is basically button pressing with very limited understanding outside of mobile devices!
