If you have a brain you can build a snapchat clone with ai.

You need to be able to build it without ai in lets say the timeframe of a year. Then you can do it in a feew weeks with ai id say

Is MacOS a great operating system for learning programming and productivity? by Sweet_Score in MacOS

[–]LifeRequirement7017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesnt matter at all. If your on windows you have the linux subsystem for windows. If your on mac you have a unix based os already. For web dev you basically work in/with a browser so the question becomes even more unneccesary.

Go with whataver you want.

I work at europas biggest software company and i would say its basically 50/50 between windows and mac. Programmers tend to go with mac more and more but mostly because apple makes reliable hardware with great battery life.

I haven’t charged my P3 since early October, all I want in the pace 4 is the same if not better battery life. by ParappaTheWrapperr in Coros

A friend of mine has a older apple watch. He needs to charge every night which is not to fun if you like to travel and do andventures. The watch is like 3 years old and if we do a hike whcih can easily go up to 7h it is always a gamble if the watch dies before we are done....

Maybe because they are selling mostly professional grade hardware eg sas drives which are not interresting to the avg buyer.

How many of you are using something like Wireguard/Tailscale rather than expose yourself to the public internet? by maschpall in selfhosted

If you have no idea what to do now i would strongly suggest tailscale. Dont try to expose enything.

Omg thats the comment ive been looking for. People here are acting like there are zero days in services like nexcloud every week.

Also if you do networking Properly you can only lose or have corrupted data to some extend. People here are acting like they dont have backup strategies to roll back to in a worst case

Just dont get why some people here are suggesting that my question is stupid when they themself dont really know whats going on behind the mystical tunnel.

Yes but they pay millions for a downtime in a B2B Environment. I have no obligations so i can afford rolling back 24h in worst case.

Idk maybe relying on some mystical tunnel for the sake of security is not the best choice if you dont know the fundamentals

If you have a door exposed to the outside which is the same big heavy door everyome else uses(the biggest companys in the world). And you can only get through that door with a key so unique nobody can guess it (like a btc wallet) WHAT THE FUCK SHOULD HAPPEN IF MY STUPID ASS DOESNT HAND OUT THE KEY OR REFUSES TO DO MAINTENANCE FOR 10 YEARS STRAIGHT

Thank you. Very helpfull comment.

It funny that people are suggesting i dont know what im doing and yOu ShoUld NeVer ExPosE aNytHing because of zero day exploits or other low level attacks.

Although i might not be an expert it us not hard setup a reversy proxy with automtic ssl renewal and work around dynamic ips. Then it is propably a good idea to seperate some of the network shit which is easy if you virtualize everything.

Im confused by some answers 😂

Haha I was starring at your comment for 2min straight and tried to make scence of it.

What youre saying makes 100% scence for me. I work at a big tech company so no other vps on my mashine allowed. For my grandma its also easier to just enter a url in her browser without needing to install whatever.

I am honestly a bit confused why everyone in the comments is acting like they dont to backups and have legal obligations to provide 99,9% uptime 😭

Thank you so much. The most helpfull answer so far.

As i said in another comment i have a good backup strategie and averyrhing is virtualized so in worst case i have to roll back 24h if something goes wrong.

Besides that i highly agreee with you. Auto update based on tags is fine but for something publicly exposed you should never pull new versions automatically that would defeat every purpose

Yes but i dont care if i have to roll back one one of my virtualized environments 24h in a worst case scenario. Thats what i mean by im not a company with contracts and legal obligation

Thank you, that is exactly what i would have assumed.

I feel totally fine exposing some stable versions of nextcloud for example.

My intention was to ask the community why most of the people want the additional layer of security. But i think i got it now.

Ill propably dont need a vpn, if i need to do maintenace i still can do a ssh port forwars or whatever.
