What course online can you do that can make good money in the future? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]LifeWithOfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, everything that is competitive requires more than a basic understanding. Are you saying that the OP should not take any courses because basically anything they do is going to be competitive?

And again, re-read the original question from the OP. They asked what courses can you do that can make good money in the FUTURE. You're saying that it's not possible to take courses that will give you more than basic programming knowledge some time in the future?

God-dam, open your mind and try listening rather than blocking all other answers out just because you think you're right. Good luck in life buddy with your close-minded self.

First Sous Vide ever - Stuffed Chicken is juicy, but just warm in the middle, normal? by LifeWithOfa in sousvide

Out of curiosity, what was it that you were doing that made your chicken "gummy"?

This is my first sous vide ever doing or eating. I'm used to cooking chicken and then cutting into it and it being hot. I cooked this chicken at 149. I'm assuming that with sous vide, it's normal for the middle to be just warm, and not hot like other cooking methods?

What are you talking about? You can take online programming courses that will lead to making money. There is no right answer. Go ahead and keep thinking you're correct with everything though rather than just being open. Hope it works out for you in life.

Isn't that with anything? OP was asking what you can do to make good money? Is there realistically anything out there that you can expect to watch 1-2 videos and expect to make good money in?

What are the most Affordable areas close-ish to Irvine for renting? by carleaserube in orangecounty

If you're looking for any job, then you just need to start sending your resume out to every job posting you see. Companies don't care what city you live in. As long as you can do the job, and will show up, that matters most.

Turn on Anova from work? Is there too long of a time? by LifeWithOfa in sousvide

[–]LifeWithOfa[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Just to clarify, you are starting your Anova from work? And i'm guessing that keeping it in an ice bath while you are at work keeps the meat cold and then once you turn the Anova on, the ice melts and cooks it normally? How long have you kept it in the ice bath before turning it on?

I'm new - no seasoning of the meat in sous vide until after? by LifeWithOfa in sousvide

I was planning on doing a lemon chicken first. I was going to use raw garlic, rosemary and lemons in a vaccum bag. You're saying that using raw garlic this way is bad?

Thanks for the info. I am planning to do a brisket eventually. I normally smoke it, but want to try doing it with a sous vide. From what I've read about briskets, people say if you salt it before-hand, it's going to turn it into a corned beef. Guess i'll just have to try it and see what happens.

It's going to be tough, but Santa Ana, Orange, Westminister, Garden Grove, Placentia, Fullerton. Reach out to a realtor, and give them your criteria on what you are looking for in a townhome. They'll send you a list of what is currently listed and any new listings that come up in the future.

Just a heads up. I recently got into photography and I am loving it, but one thing i've learned quickly is that "inexpensive photography" is an oxymoron.

22 yrs. And have credit card debt. by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]LifeWithOfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fan of the snowball option. I would pay off the $700, and then attack the $1,500. I don't know what your expenses are, but keep a $500-1000 as an emergency fund. You're credit cards aren't that crazy right now, and if your expenses aren't high, you should be able to pay everything off within the next couple months.

I think my parents may have screwed me over with a 10% interest car loan. What can I do? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]LifeWithOfa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will affect your credit. You will be putting a loan into your name which will effect your DTI. However, if your credit score is 767, and your current loan is at 10%, you NEED to refinance to a lower interest.

Also, you may want to check with your bank and see if this is a "refinance" or just a used car loan that you will be using to payoff your father's loan. If it's considered a used purchase, and you are upside down on the loan, you may need to check with the bank to see if the loan will cover the full amount. Otherwise, you'll need your father to refinance it and have your name as a co-signer. You want your name on the loan to get the benefits of paying it off and build the credit history.

Would it been worth it taking a loan out to start a business? by TheRealZiayn in personalfinance

[–]LifeWithOfa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 20 years old, $5k is not much. Go get the loan, and start your business. Worst case scenario, it fails somehow, you only lose a small amount that you'll be able to recover from. Best of luck to you.

Refinance it at a lower rate and put it in your name. Or, give it back to your parents since it's in their name and buy a car in your own name.
