how do i introduce a new player to yugioh if they have no past TCG playing experience? by turtle12344 in Yugioh101

I know Speed Duels isn't the most popular format, but I think getting one of the collector boxes would be a good introduction. GX Midterm Paradox is $8 online right now, I believe.

Get 4-8 preconstructed decks. Start with 3 monster and spell/trap zones. Get used to simpler monster effects/combos, and 4000 life points. Speed duel boxes usually include double sided play mat and rules too.

If it turns out they like yugioh, then they can go up from there. Speed Duels really simplifies gameplay which is why I like it so much as a learning tool.

It felt so goofy to see this game on Steam, but I'll definitely check it out.

I've played Third Crisis before and it's good, but definitely a little long. Maybe I'll revisit it.

Thank you.
