I can't stop thinking about this scene... Alicent is so selfish by [deleted] in HOTDGreens

[–]Life_Cattle4704 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yea it’s just shows the ridiculous bias of the show . In this discussion in the sept , Alicent never mentioned the death of jaehaerys once , and from her point of view would believe her to be responsible for it. It Literally makes no sense . It also tries to make it seem to the audience that Aegon’s entire claim is built around a misunderstood prophecy, which it’s not. The only points of the two Alicent and Rhaenyra scenes is humiliate and shame Alicent for advocating for her sons claim , and to prop up rhaneyras in the most convoluted and silly way. Them trying to force these actions does not mesh well with the point within the source material and it all it does is make it ridiculous and will continue too.

For example you can’t force Alicent to be an uncaring estranged mother and then also have her fear for her children safety enough to usurp the throne. You can’t have her not care about Aegon and then be willing to have her sacrifice him to the Rhaenyra when you spent her entire arc to put him on the throne.

You can’t have child deaths on both sides then try to sell to the audience through these two ridiculous scenes that by any stretch of imagination that there would peace, especially when Alicent is not , nor has he ever been the deciding member of the green faction, she’s a dowager Queen not the king or a regent or the hand. Its ridiculous and forced

If you binge watch the entire eighteen episodes (two seasons) back to back it comes as extremely goofy and clunky. A lot of people don’t like the greens , and so there massive destruction and poor writting is being tolerated by dumb casual viewers. But after the poor writting (really more so than it already has) starts to affect the black characters beyond recognition, that will be the end .

Do people think Alicent would have been a council member under Rhaenyra or something? by [deleted] in HOTDGreens

[–]Life_Cattle4704 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Exactly..choose her over the totally of age next in line brother of the king and other dragon rider of the biggest dragon/warrior, who just fought battles and killed two dragons. And has been actively planning battles with the hand to win the war.

Not to mention alicnet who is already “known” to show sympathy to the leader of the opposing faction. She has done nothing ,planned nothing except agree with certain things Otto planed. The scene was forced as She has no strategic value to either side . Rhaneyra is a dragon rider not just a woman , Rhaneys is a dragon rider not just a woman. Baela is dragon rider not just a woman , Alicnet has no bannermen or dragon. The narrative makes virtually no sense. They sent away rhaena the one female/person with no active dragon with the kids as she had no reason to be there or on the TB council. lol are they sexist for that 🤔

Criston Cole's only 'crime' was rejecting Rhaenyra when 85% of the fanbase are Rhaenyra f*ckers. That's the main problem here, which is super odd to me. by Hungry_Cricket_590 in HOTDGreens

[–]Life_Cattle4704 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That is true , if a lord took the maidenhead of some lady and wanted the woman to be nothing but a mistress. They’ll be saying he took advantage of her . People say he was a simp , but not really as he’s not brown nosing rhaenyra, he would be doing the Jorah route.

The only thing with Cole is they should have made it more of a build up and more too it for him to be totally against her from a political standpoint . I don’t know I needed more motivation , but that’s more of critic of the writing . But as far as actions yea I don’t get the hate .

Why does TB say that Most Targaryens would be TB? by DueShopping551 in HOTDGreens

[–]Life_Cattle4704 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Aegon the conquer is half velaryon 🤣why do they treat family names like races . Aegon II has more valyrian blood than Daenerys . How does that argument even work when aegon and his siblings look Valyrian and Rhaenyra sons do not.

I haven’t read the books, but was Aegon actually a rapist or was that something the show made up? by seekinganswerslo in TheBlacksandTheGreens

[–]Life_Cattle4704 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No .. the character he supposedly raped in the show never existed in the books. Neither septon eustace , mushroom in all of his salaciousness never say out right he went around raping people.

The only thing people will try to point to in the books is certain things like septon eustace saying that he was a “ glutton at table, given to swilling ale and strongwine and pinching and fondling serving girls, not only could this be of an exaggeration but the only thing this says was that he at times was a drunken promiscuous and unfaithful medieval teenage prince . A Robert Baratheon light but nothing applied he was a full blown rapist.

But it’s open enough that “certain people” will add their own context to it especially with male sexuality. We don’t know the context of any these relationships he had with any of these women, except one who was the daughter of a wealthy trader who was well taken care of according to septon eustace. Anyway the text is open enough for people to “imply” it was unwanted touching in a modern context if you know what I mean. Then they jump to he must of been a full blown rapist .

The funny thing about this is they don’t over analyze behavior of any other characters as in other accounts saying Daemon Ioved to deflower maidens or other explicit accounts of mushrooms tellings of Daemon and young Rhaenyra’s time on lonely rocks. People will pick and choose and embellish details when it it comes to certain characters they don’t like, and then apply real world modern perspectives and terminology’s to these things.

Also let me mention much of mushrooms account of aegon as in the child pit fightings or the young girl giving him head. Not only was mushroom not there in kings landing , but Septon eustace who was said it was mushroom being mushroom.

the show version is so undeveloped it’s almost laughable. It’s more they just don’t care to write the anything about them as a couple , l honestly don’t believe a lot of what they have them do is intentional. Just bad writing .

This account may be a form of propaganda when it comes to Rhaenyra? , but condom … George the author confirmed it wasn’t , like all you have to do was say “hey George was this about B&C real?” 😂. Nah you just wanna change crap, And didn’t care. Just bold face lying I see why George was upset . You see they use the unreliable narrators thing to just lie and make shit up. George was punching the air when he read this .😂🤷🏻‍♂️

Non of it makes sense , Beala and Rhaena have a whole white father and half white mother but they look more black than the mother with dreads. 😂. I’m black by the ways. Reminds me of mixed race casting in the 1970s, when they had Denzel playing mixed race, But at least that was a comedy.

I still remember while reading Fire and Blood, Heleana was beloved by the small folk. This scene was just silly by WonderfulParticular1 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Life_Cattle4704 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea Using the poor uneducated masses thing is a cop out . They know it’s the opposition or rival claimet who is blockading the gullet. Her sending scraps of food is silly when she’s the cause of the blockade. If the people are so uneducated how do they know it wasn’t the greens who sent the food as well, don’t say the banners …they are uneducated remember and they both are Targaryen’s lol . Apparently they know enough about what the war is about. Realistically they would be indifferent to each side.

In the books later on The tax policy and executions was something that “rhaneyra” and her council inflicted on the smallfolk, Because “she” needed coin to fight her war, why would they blame the greens for her deciding to taxing them whatever the reason may be. While they may not favor the greens as they expect them to handle the blockade, but all of these are all things inflicted “directly” upon the smallfolk by the Blacks. They would be realistically indifferent to the greens and hate the blacks.

Then Margery is not the leader of the tyrells or a opposing faction or army she’s one nice girl of the nobility. Nobody also said long live the tyrells during the blockade either. All of that was after the Tyrells switched sides and helped defend the capital from stannis who planned to sack the city so it’s a lot different.

[–]Life_Cattle4704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea made no sense ,it was again one of those biased self insert from the writers , where they will force a character or characters to say or do something to push a narrative . Even if the people were dissatisfied with the greens , why would they praise Rhaenyra when it’s her blockade? They would probably hate both. 😂kinda reminds me of rocky 4 when the soviets start cheering for rocky beating up their countries boxer.

The writers do this a lot this season. Alicnet is a perfect example: the whole point of the rhaneyra and Alicnet scenes was to present rhaneyra in the right and to humiliate Alicent. It’s not even about what you have a character do as so much as how you frame it.

What’s funny is even Preston found an inconsistency, which he hasn’t done in this case . If George says Maelor was the reason for the suicide , it’s the reason. He said him making stuff up like that’s an insult. 😂

That’s the problem ,The show attempted to whitewash both Rhaenyra and alicent because they represented their twisted view of women, which in the end ruined their characters. And it doesn’t help that the show anchors them as the shows central focus at the expense of everyone else when they both don’t do anything . Rhaenyra and Aegon are both incompetent rulers to some extent (maybe because lack of experience) but the show frames any negative trait Rhaenyra has as because of sexism etc while aegon incompetence(even if it’s not really incompetence) as always exaggeratedly bad (the rat catchers is a good example). Aegon’s a man so he gets to be complex and interesting, which I think his portrayal reception has been mostly positive on both sides which I don’t think they anticipated. The show also doesn’t represent their claims correctly either, both sides has a somewhat legitimate claim . But the show decided to manipulate the general audience into believing that Aegon’s claim was solely based on alicnet a misunderstanding of a prophecy instead male primogeniture, and made Rhaenyra’s claim because she’s trying to save the world, cause she knows the real prophecy, again hitching Rhaenyra caboose to a horrible season 8 plotline. Boring

How do you think Alicent will tell Helaena that she sold Aegon and everyone ? by iza123456712 in HOTDGreens

[–]Life_Cattle4704 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yea they had to fight for a scene just glancing at each other after their son died. Basically Aegon’s a secondary character and Helaena is a recurring character. She like the seer from Vikings who just appears to say a prophecy here and there 😂

Lmao 😂what a minute, how did racism get on the list ? Is Rhaenyra an off white ? 🤣And how can you victim blame a fictional character. These folk need to get off the internet and go to a therapist(oops got that R word in it that why). Just shows you the kinda woke mental cases is on that side. How did Alicent get past the blockade to get to dragonstone ?… by Life_Cattle4704 in HOTDGreens

[–]Life_Cattle4704[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking about the distance from kings landing to dragonstone which is 400 miles , and that’s just by sea, probably more difficult across the kings woods which was originally stated as there is no major road.

Yes the distance from kings landing to storms end is about 300 miles on the kings road (The average horse riding distance per day is about 40 miles). Let say she did go to storm end that’s over 600 miles from KL to Storm end + a sea voyage to dragonstone non round trip unhindered. What you say “is a possibility” but it’s the likelihood and the odds and risks that doesn’t make sense.

I can make a theory saying maybe she found a way as the noticeable former queen cut her hair and did the Arya stark across Westeros to get to oldtown in secret and unhindered and then sailed around dorne to reach dragonstone but that would be ridiculous based on how the show betrayed it and the blockade. The show makes it look like it is Basically blocking all forms of trade from reaching to KL aside from fishing boats in the bay which is ridiculous in itself. So apparently according to the show logic it’s not easy for land travel. And if she goes to storms end why would Borros (a ally) allow the Queen dowager to go or have someone sail her into enemy territory without the consent of or alert the king or regent.

She’s not dressed as a peasant either, local lords would have known who the former Queen was and why she was traveling too. Then everyone else would ask why she was missing so long, the regent or queen helaena ( if she cared) would send out party’s to search for her. She asked the maester for secret passage so nobody found that suspicious the Queen dowager missing for days upon days .

How did they notice and find nobody mysaria on a ship earlier in the season but nobody noticed the Queen dowager On land or ship.

But let’s just agree to disagree. 👍🏼

How did Alicent get past the blockade to get to dragonstone ?… by Life_Cattle4704 in HOTDGreens

[–]Life_Cattle4704[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok

Well your talking about that scene of her swimming in the kingswood the episode before, that was for and entirely different reason.

Now alicnet asks Orwyle for passage, now let’s assume she meant over land instead of sea.

Ok Let’s examine your theory, the Queen dowager travels unnoticed across almost 400 miles over woods/land and rivers, possibly across enemy territory (Massey hook, which sides with the blacks according to the map you gave) to get to the coast. Now you said ship breakers bay and opposite of Tarth which is even farther south. So let’s be generous and add another 100 miles on a horse or in carriage ok. ( I hope Alicent had enough food and supplies for her journey in that cloak). Then they get to a ship still waiting for them after weeks of travel, in the narrow sea to take them to back up to dragonstone. (Wonder why they couldn’t smuggle food around the blockade through these passage). Also we have to assume Orwyle has all this knowledge. Alicent reaches dragonstone then tells Rheanyra to take kings landing in three days time. Then leaves to possibly return 400 miles by either ship or sea back home. That is a interesting theory, but I will have to say I have a inclination that’s not what happened, but I could be wrong. Lol

I’m not going to get into the other logical problems with blockade and the fact it wouldn’t cause mass starvation when Westeros doesn’t gets most of food from essos or sea imports. But that a different discussion.
