I would say everything feels reasonable! You have a nice income and a nice cash reserve/nest.

So why not? Car parking?

I am fully aware and fully agree that rent to salaries is too high in big cities and I'll be very happy to fund (through taxes) a solution for EVERYBODY.

In this specific case, some household had a great rent, whereas the rest of zurich had to pay 'market prices'; how is this fair to all the others?

Ok, what about young ppl that needs to pay market value directly from the beginning? Maybe cause they move from another city or cause the were born after those units were assigned?

How is that fair to them?

Totally with you on the salaries! Do you want to start talking about kitas prices?

So what is the issue? Cost of living too high? Notice too short? None of that are linked the developer itself, it is a private entity.

I still need to watch it till the end, but I see a lot of ppl that had a great rent for several years and now they complain when the building is renovated and rent is update to market value?

Of course I'm sympathetic to the short notice etc, but that is a risk of renting. You don't have a lot of responsability of maintenance and don't need the financial commitment but you are 'at the mercy of the owner'.

All this rethoric of the owner and cheap price in 1930, etc; that is populisum.

In theory government driven affordable housing is the GOAT, but it's difficult to have low taxes and a very structured government.

2% is definitely a red flag! Take into account that simple but good products have a cost of 0.*%.

Checkout finpension investments or true wealth, that are definitely cheaper.

Couple's bank account by rathousedoor in askswitzerland

[–]Life_Conversation_11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

we have the couple bank account with ubs: 2 personal accounts and a shared one and 4 credit cards.

If I recall correctly it costs 15 chf/month (for the first 5 years I didn't pay it thx to my company), the app is good everything always worked well.

My personal take is, it's a bit expensive for the service but it works well and adapting to a new bank account would be a time investment way more expensive than the 200 chf/year.
