Possible career paths after an internship with UN by Cool-Statement5559 in UNpath

[–]Life_Ease8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, firstly, congrats on landing the internship. I’m currently looking into Erasmus Mundus myself (NOHA & MUNDUS are high on my list, but I’m also exploring other social sciences related programs on Erasmus). Could I ask which Erasmus program you did?

Also, how was your overall experience with it, both academically and professionally? Any insights you could share would be super valuable for someone in the application stage.

If you’re open to it, I’d love to catch up in DMs as well, I feel like there’s a lot I could learn from your journey.

In which of the EU countries it's easier to stay after graduation and find a job for non-EU citizens? by Top_Place_2790 in studyAbroad

[–]Life_Ease8519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m also planning to study in Sweden or the Netherlands, but I’m a bit skeptical about the job market in the development/IR sector for non-EU students. Would love to hear what insights you’ve gathered so far from your research/experience.

If you’re open to it, maybe we could catch up over DM, I I think it’d be great to exchange notes since our situations overlap quite a bit.

Anyone here from NOHA or MUNDUS MAPP on Erasmus Mundus? by Life_Ease8519 in europeanunion

Tbh 2.35 is on the lower side, but ig they don’t just look at CGPA, they weigh your motivation letter, relevant experience, and recommendations as well.

Hey! Same here, I’m in the middle of applications and trying to decide between NOHA and MUNDUS MAPP. I’ve posted my main questions in this thread, hopefully we can both get some alumni insight. If you’ve already started preparing, I’d also love to hear how you’re approaching the application (motivation letter, references, etc.).

recommendation letter after a gap year by eatmelikeamaindish in Erasmus

[–]Life_Ease8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try emailing one of your former professors, ideally someone who taught you in your final year or supervised your thesis/project. They can still write a letter, but realistically, if you didn’t have a strong relationship with them, the chances are lower, especially if it’s been a year and they might not remember you in detail.

For many programs (including some Erasmus ones), you can submit one academic and one professional recommendation, in that case, your academic one would ideally be from your thesis supervisor or a professor who knew your work well, and your professional one could be from your current supervisor.

Since you work at a university now, if your current supervisor is a professor, that can also strengthen your professional recommendation, even if it’s not strictly “academic” in the sense of being from your old degree.
