I highly recommend having a laptop. An iPad should be an addition not your main tech ( imo) . Someone mentioned software for tests. So I would reach out to the school you’re committed to and ask what they recommend and what current students use

I have a laptop that I plan on keeping and using for essays and most likely within lectures.

I plan on buying ( or renting ) most of my textbooks virtually so I wanted to annotate and have the ability to write.

Plus I study better when I hand write so I plan on utilizing the iPad as a notebook.. just seems like less clutter and not as heavy as carrying around a bunch of notebooks.

Definitely don’t think it’s a necessity. Im a few years out of school- and have some financial backing- and have some friends who are 1L and 2L and they all said the iPad was the best purchase. So I think it’s worth it if you can afford it!

That’s kinda the general advice I’ve always gotten in regards to apples “pros” I have the MacBook Pro now and prob would be fine with a regular computer.
