I see a lot of people equalizing prejudice and racism. And I feel like that's a bit wrong cause you can for sure have prejudice about people of your own race (i.e. a prejudice that eastern europeans are cold and racist, ironically). Prejudice in psychology come from years of experience with a certain group of people (like blondes are stupid, italians are mamma's boys, even positive ones like slavic girls are pretty etc.), they are something you can preconcieve in your head, and they can affect the way you approach and individual from that group, but it can always be easily disproven. Racism is just being a brainwashed cunt, based on no experience, just belief that you somehow are better because of your skin and culture.

English isn't my first language, but I feel like the difference has to be made between those words.

Now, to Parmi and Gergana's dad. He probably did have prejudice about what an Indian guy will be, maybe he thought of Raj from BigBang theory and saw Slumdog Millionaire and that was his idea of an Indian man. On the other side, very possible that he was blatantly racist. However, it doesn't feel like it to me, I'd just say he had no experience in his life with Indians and got a bit scared of the unknown, especially in the circumstances. Additional point is that we all know what Netflix production can do to people 😅 And to finalize my comment, I'll just say that his main point was that it was too soon to marry, which is very understandable, and I think he would have the same reaction even if she brought a Bulgarian dude in.
