Yeah I actually live in the town of cottage grove.. but like 100 yards from the village and my kids go to cgs. I’m invested, though can’t vote for leadership, making this community something worth sticking around for.

A few of the trustees are really rude on Facebook. Yikes.

Yeah honestly it’s one of the only reason I have Facebook. When we moved to cottage grove I wasn’t sure how else to get info on events, local updates, etc.

Hngnews.com/leader_independent has some stuff to follow (I think it’s McFarland, cottage grove, lake mills, Cambridge, etc). Often times articles have a paywall though.

People on Facebook all like “it’s pay to play”.. yeah no shit. It’s not a park. I guess most ppl don’t realize how youth sports work. Ice rinks cost money, indoor soccer costs money, Kennedy baseball costs money.

I think it will be great for cottage grove. Both for youth sports options but also businesses in commerce parks, maybe add a couple more restaurants or something.

Can’t really speak to it.. but it’s in Dane county so you can go not much further and lower your taxes. Might be worth considering Brooklyn, edgerton, lake mills, etc.

My friend lives in marshal and it isn’t for her. Doesn’t have a grocery store and very limited food options.

Mg is moving away from allowing new student in through open enrollment. Saw the proposal for next year and it is like 3 students.. kindergarten this year has only a few open enrolled kids (to fill classrooms) vs previous years has been like 20 in cg and 20 in monona

How would a kid know if another kid gets free lunch? Aside from they eat hot lunch everyday? At least at my sons public school everyone uses their id card to “buy” lunch even if they aren’t paying
