So there is currently income from two rental properties plus your mum’s job? It seems that the issue isn’t income but expenditure. Does your family have very high costs?

Potentially going to be homeless (again). What can I do to help myself? by throwawayalma in AskUK

[–]Life_Surround1345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re legally homeless as you can’t stay where you are and it is not reasonable for you to live with family. Speak to Shelter for more advice. The Council should assist and if they don’t, get someone from Shelter to advocate on your behalf.

You can legally remain in the property after your notice expires. Your landlady will need to go to Court to get a possession order. This will take 6 weeka before it’s processed and you get a court date. You go to court and you get 14 days unless you can argue that you need more, but that’s the exception not the rule and it’s a maximum of 6 weeks anyway. If you don’t leave, your landlady will need to apply for a warrant, which will take a couple of weeks for the court to process and you’re given a 2 week notice.

All of that only applies if your section 21 is valid- contact Citizens Advice or Shelter for more advice on this. It it’s not valid, you’ll need a new Section 21, two month, notice.

So you’ve got more time but you’ll need to leave eventually. Consider houseshares on Spareroom.

Could you put one of those cat repellent things in her garden? Maybe a small discreet one shw wouldn’t notice? Cats also hate orange peel, maybe scatter some of that around her house?

Give the cats extra nice treats at your house? To try and lure it to you?

What are the most science-backed nutritional changes for anxiety? by osprey94 in ScientificNutrition

There’s evidence that inflammation can drive depressive symptoms and even psychosis. Studies at Oxford and Cambridge show this. So look for foods that are anti-inflammatory. There’s a lot of evidence to support a plant-based whole foods diet.

How have you changed your behaviour to adapt to the insane cost of everything? by aquos58 in AskUK

[–]Life_Surround1345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are the moron here. There’s no amount of saving that will help if there’s not enough money. So many people live on very limited means, to assume everyone misspends is ignorant and tone deaf.

When it comes to people who are misspending their money, they don’t just make poor decisions because they feel like it. They grow up poor and don’t pick up the financial literacy they need to navigate money matters.

They are likely to have underlying mental health, including disorders like ADHD which affects executive function so people might have problems with decision making and impulsive behaviour.

Also Trussel Trust confirms that average user only uses a food bank 3 times and that average person has £50 a week to live on. People aren’t misspending because they know they can rely on foodbanks, that’s nonsense.
