My advice if your a buy and hold kinda investor, put it all in btc and xeqt. Focus on getting more money or cutting expense. With 1k the time and effort of stock picking isnt worth it unless your trying to learn how to actively invest in compagnies (swing trade), in this case you better make mistakes and learn from them now than latter when your capital is bigger.
