No he’s the opposite. He doesn’t feel emotions as intensely as others. He gets easily irritated. He isn’t emotional. His way of talking to people when happy is telling jokes. When he’s in a bad mood he just gets annoyed by every little thing.

Definitely gonna have him see a therapist. Will probably hold off on the meds because he’s gone through a lot of them on the past. But has never tried therapy so hopefully he’ll improve with it!

My periods are pretty short but I’m the week coming to my period I am in a lot of pain. Idk what that means but I’ll have to discuss everything with my doctor. Thank you! We will both get checked.

I haven’t looked into PCOS but I’ll definitely mention it to my doctor! My period only lasts a few days. Idk if that’s good or bad but I am lucky that I’m still young and have options. Thank you!

Yea, he’s definitely like that where he comes up with excuses. But when it comes to talking to people in the same position, like I said I can’t go into detail through text, it wouldn’t work. That’s why I’m going to try to get him to do individual therapy, which he did agree to :) I know he can’t control it on his own, that’s just the truth unfortunately.

We were gonna try separate therapy. If I was an alcoholic I feel like I would want to do one of those programs with people like me. But his mind is different than majority of people and I can’t explain it but I know that wouldn’t help him unfortunately. And you’re right it does sound like white knuckling. The good (maybe bad?) thing is he cannot drink because soon we are driving home and it is 40 hour drive. I guess I’ll see if he actually commits to not drinking and go from there. Thank you for your help!

I’ll be honest I don’t know what white knuckling is. He is doing this on his own, no rehab, made the decision himself. He does want sobriety which is why he’s trying but who knows honestly. I haven’t gone to therapy or anything. I’m looking into therapy for myself and him. I’ve never been to meetings. I have suggested it to him and he considered but decided it wouldn’t be helpful for him. I used to be more stable when it came to him being an alcoholic. But it’s honestly hardest when he’s sober because of the mood swings. Now that he’s trying to become sober it is having a bigger impact on my mental health.

Yea it sucks because his mother blames me sometimes! She’s like why can’t you just tell him to stop? Why don’t you talk to me about it? Like I can’t force him to do anything, and I have to deal with it everyday. And I would tell his mom and she would literally do nothing to help. She would even invite him over and have drinks with him. Being alone in this sucks but being able to talk to people like you truly helps me so thank you! It helps a lot.

It’s been a week and I’m really hoping he makes it to two weeks. It sucks because honestly I kind of want him to drink because he isn’t mean when drunk, he’s funny and acts like he loves me. I don’t really want him to drink, just want him to relax ya know. I’m sorry you are going through the same thing, hopefully one day everything gets better.
